Confused on exercise / intervals / still breastfeeding

I'm most likely going to be purchasing a plan soon (prob when I get a period). I'm breastfeeding and generally ate more of a boy diet while nursing. However, I'm small. 5'4" and 114 pounds. Before having ds1 I was 100 pounds and still conceived a boy. I was about this weight 114 before conceiving second boy. He's 18 months but still getting a lot of nutrition from nursing. No period yet. I'm starting the LE diet and probably eat closer to 1800. I get super hungry - probably due to nursing.

I can eat a ton and maintain my weight. I have a difficult time losing even a few pounds because nursing makes my body cling on to fat. I hope to wean soon. But then I think nursing may help my sway?

My question is - are intervals ok? I sometimes put my kids in a jogging stroller and kind of jog and walk for 60 minutes now. Sometimes I jog then I get tired and walk. Same with the treadmill. I kind of of do a combo of walking/jogging/running for an hour. Sometimes I will get off the treadmill and do like a stationary bike (super easy pedaling). Are these interval type of exercises going to hurt my sway?

Thanks so much for any input! I have done a lot of research but I feel like I have a unique situation.

This is pretty much what ive been doing so far; sometimes we just walk and even that's been getting good results - it's the 60+ mins and the diet change.
You don't need to lose weight obviously you know that, it's it's maintaining while you switch up the foods.
I think the 1800 cals is smart unless you gain weight.
I am 5 2 and 130lbs with. A 13 month old, so I'm eating s little less bc I have a lot that can come off, but not enough to sacrifice milk quality or supply overall.
18 months pp and no period! Wow!!

I think it should be ok. If you start losing weight though, I would reduce your interval or stop interval training altogether. At your present weight and height, I would hold steady. Since you are breastfeeding, you don't want the return of ovulation or AF to be delayed even more. You haven't gotten your period yet, so don't do too much too soon. When you consider weaning, I would start by dropping the overnight feedings first. This alone can bring back AF. Sometimes this isn't enough, but when you and bub are ready, this would be a good place to start. BFing does sway pink, even for a few months after stopping. I know you conceived before at a lower weight, but with nursing still, I'm concerned if you aim to do that instead of holding steady AF will stay away.

    FX and GL to you!

Wow, that was my first post and you ladies are so helpful! I'll keep up the exercising and intervals.

Hmmm....the one thing I want to add. I don't think my pp period is delayed because of weight. I think I'm just super sensitive to nursing. I nursed my first boy until 16 months, got my period once and then immediately got pregnant with my second boy. I didn't really try to sway at all. Some of the things I did were girl friendly (no O, just stopped nursing, was recovering from a virus). I'm worried that I'm super prone to boys (my husband is an all boy family) but again I didn't try the diet or exercising last time.

Oh and I kind of night weaned about 4 weeks ago. I nurse around 8:30pm to sleep and then again at 4:30am. I've never nursed this long before but I feel like my period is coming. I used to have no cervical mucus (dry as a desert) and I would say the past 2 months I have sticky mucus.

Great job on the night weaning! That can sometimes be the difficult ones to cut out! Yay!

I didn't mean to imply that the reason your pp hasn't returned is because of your weight. I am concerned that because of the weight you are at, if you add in interval training it could delay the return and halt ovulation. You can still ovulate without a pp (my girlfriends are proof with their oops babies!)! I just don't want you to compound things further with adding in weight loss. That is what I was meaning. Personally, I think you're at a fantastic weight to TTC- we just need AF to come to better gauge ovulation.

I agree with xx! You're in. Great place for TTC pink as soon as AF starts!

Now is a good time to get a plan because I don't have a wait right now!

I would probably continue nursing, I do think it sways pink. It may make it take longer for your cycle to come back but I suspect that yours will be back sooner rather than later.

I think you should up cals to 1800-2000 because your cycle will probably not come back if you cut back too far. The dietary changes in terms of lower fat and protein intake and lowering nutrients overall will still sway pink even without losing any weight. I would not have you lose any. Do not try to get back down to 100 lbs that is not a healthy weight for you anyway.

    Intervals are fine when swaying.

IT's not weight in and of itself but your body "notices" your weight and may keep your cycle away a bit longer if your weight is lower, than it would otherwise. I think you're going to find it comes back pretty quick with the night weaning.

Ohhhhi was hoping you would respond, Atomic. The weird thing about my weight is I was always 100 pounds my whole life. I didn't have my first until I was 28. So I'm not sure if I am just heavier because I'm older? I feel nervous that I was at such a low weight prior to getting my first boy. I was doing a lot to sway boy (not knowing) like acupuncture, pre seed, propping hips, vitex, and Chinese herbs. However, I got pregnant super fast (first cycle trying, and second cycle off BCP). I had just gotten married and had him before our first wedding anniversary.

My second boy I was doing some boy things like vitex, pre nat vitamins, red raspberry tea. But I feel like overall I was doing more girl things (1st pp cycle, just stopped breastfeeding, no big O, husband I were sick when I ovulated and I made him have sex with me....lol).

I think diet will be key for me. I'm trying to stick to 2-3 meals a day. More carbs. Less meat. I do have coffee every morning. 2-3 iced coffees with milk, sometimes cream, and maple syrup (will stop that because I just read it sways boy).

Ugh of course I tried to track cals today. I ate about 1700 calories. However, 58 protein grams. 71.5 fat grams (37%). This is going to be harder than I thought.
