Hi, I have been reading this board non stop for a couple months now. I have one dd, our first and then five boys in a row. When I concieved my dd I was visiting my dh, who lived out of state at the time, and I'd say we did frequent release with cut off from what I remember. With my boys we were not doing f&r, just when we had a chance, only one time near ovulation. So, my plan is to do the opposite. I have been charting with cm, can't use temps as I wake frequently and can't get good reading. I bought clear blue digital tests. We dtd Saturday am with blinking smiley. Got a blinking smiley yesterday and today the positive opk. So, do you think I'm good on timing with a three/four day cut off? I know timing isn't the most important thing, but it makes me feel a bit in control. I am doing the le diet as best I can, taking calcium, magnesium, folic acid and drinking extra skim milk and cranberry pills. Dh is on the supps with added licorice root. I used represh before bding. Should I then attempt an 0+12 I guess is my question. I want to cover all bases, but would that be useless? Also, if I got a postive today would you say most likely if we dtd tomorrow evening it would be boy territory. Sorry, this is all so confusing. Thanks so much, I have learned a ton from this board and really appreciate the time you ladies put into it!

Lurker with a timing question

Hi and welcome!! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom!
Doing the opposite only works if the thing you are doing the opposite on, is the reason (or one reason) why you got boys.
One attempt has gotten us 70-75% success for girls regardless of timing or frequency pattern. It is a major step in the wrong direction to add attempts to keep timing and frequency when neither has worked. Stick with the attempt you already have! A cutoff is WAY WAY better odds of conception than O+12 is and I cannot say strongly enough how much I dislike O+12.
While everyone is always welcome to use whatever sway tactics they like and believe in, the case against timing is here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html and the case against O+12 is here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...9-no-12-a.htmlLast edited by atomic sagebrush; June 15th, 2015 at 12:52 PM.

Wow, thanks so much, that makes a ton of sense. I've been going back and forth, but for some reason I just feel at peace about this last attempt and I'm going to let it be and see what happens. If it's nothing, at least I have a sense of control going into my next cycle. Thanks for the quick response!
