My doc called and said my progesterone was only 12 on 6 dpo. Pretty low, and wants me to do suppositories. I know they are not cheap but wanted to know if it is even worth it? Pharmacy closes at 5 so wanted to know if I should even bother.

Do you think there is a difference in having progesterone drawn on 6 or 7 dpo?

Progesterone levels rise 7-10 days after ovulation and 10-12 is normal.

Thanks NBP. Do you think I should bother supplementing? I feel so defeated.

I feel for you. I had mine drawn at 5dpo last month and it was 8.12. This was with clomid and progesterone supplements. My doctor was happy with it, but it seems low to me. My numbers were low but it was my first cycle in 2 months where I didn't have 3 days of spotting and a short lp. It might not hurt to try.

I personally don't think vaginal suppositories are worth the cost in natural (non-IVF) pregnancies. Plus MANY women have uncomplicated pregnancies and healthy babies despite low P. Yours isn't THAT low plus you could ge a day off in terms of O.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

I am with atomic. I don't think they are necessary. I had very low progesterone and had two miscarriages but felt that if the baby was healthy my progesterone would be too. So right beforw this pregnancy my levels were super low...i have had zero issues. The progesterone levels are completely normal because the baby and prwgnancy are normal.
