DH and soda, best TTC pink drinks

Does DH drinking soda... I mean A LOT of soda affect a pink sway- positive or negative? He ha been doing better about it and often opts for tea or lemonade instead but soda is all he drinks at work and if he gets a soda outside of work he gets a 44 oz fountain or 2 or 3... point is, he likes his soda. I have been trying to think back to big changes we made around the time of conceiving our DD and we both switched to things like powerade (him), powerade zero (me and occasionally him) or crystal lite (him) with him only having soda at work on a rare occasion. We hadn't really started swaying yet, just making small changes and I came to this board like a week or 2 b4 conception from ingender so I don't know if that is in-line with a girl sway.. still learning. I also drank a 1-2 cups of caramel cappuccino a day. Basically, we were trying to at least half our sugar intake. It has me wondering if him cutting pop and me cutting all sugar and caffine except what was in the cappuccino played any role at all and if we should consider switching again? DH really can't sway diet wise but if it helps (cutting soda, tea, lemonade, etc.) I think he'd do it again since he did it before.

If there is a best drink to drink please let me know. No herbal stuff though... neither of us like it. And I'd probably have better luck trying to get a horse to give birth to a rabbit than I would getting him to drink water only or even mostly.

In our case, the one and only thing DH drank differently than he had ever done so before, as in he had never done this, for about 3mths before our oops baby he had a large coffee every morning. He doesn't even really know why he started, but prior to doing so he would have 1 coffee a week on a Sunday morning with me. Did it make a difference? I obviously have no idea but that and religiously taking OLE every single day without fail was the only real difference DH made to his 'diet'. I have often wondered since we found out we are having a girl if it was the daily caffeine/and or OLE...but we also only had 1 attempt for the entire month and that was not the case with the boys. Not sure that helps any sorry.......but I always find it interesting to see what, if any, changes people made to their/DH's diet to get their DG, whether it be boy or girl.

There is NEVER a magic food or drink that guarantees conception of a certain gender.

I personally think that soda, if it sways, sways pink. But whenever you change your diet (and suddenly eliminating a lot of cals from sugar would still be a change) might make a person's body sit up and say HMMM...or it could be totally unrelated to anything tangible that you were even doing and just luck.

The idea that caffeine sways blue is 1000% debunked. Caffeine has been absolutely proven that it does not cause "calcium to leach from your body" and the best study we have on diet shows equal numbers of boys and girls conceived to moms drinking caff. We do not have "dose" info from that study but anecdotally we have observed that the heavier caff. users actually seem to have more GIRLS than boys and some have used it in their sways .

DH and I also hitting the caff much much harder with our DD than our boys. DH did not even drink coffee with our first two sons.

Exact opposite with us. We BOTH liked our soda with each of our boys. I don't drink it at all now, my caffeine of choice is sweet tea, but except for that period of time (brought on by ingender's aspartame recommendations which is why I mentioned them in the first post) DH still likes his mountain dew, wild cherry pepsi and Dr. Pepper. The calorie cut things makes sense, esp for DH. He gets a good 1,000 cals or better from his drinks alone a day (and he is still a bean stalk... so jealous lol). With me I was drinking a lot of hot cocoa before then because of the cold so I guess it fits for me too.

Soda doesn't have that much caff in it though. I think when dealing with DH it is best to let him do his own thing as much as poss and then pick the battles that matter - this is not that battle.
