    Embarrassed Skipping Breakfast/Timing of DTD

Hi everyone! I have not been able to do the LE Diet because we are planning on ttc starting in July, and I read on here that if you don't do it for a long enough period of time then you actually increase your testosterone levels. For that reason, I am going to go with drinking a lot of calcium, trying to lower salt intake, and dtd on the day of positive OPK/peak ovulation. My questions are: Is there anything I should be doing that doesn't require a longer of period of time to work/won't raise testosterone? I bought sylk (used preseed for my two boys!). I am reading about benedryl taken 1-2 hours before dtd? Is there anything else I should do? Or since I am not doing the diet to the T are all these other things being done in vain? THANKS =)

    Hi!

You could try to time bd. Its eather the 1 attempt at +opk or after af dtd every 4 days. Plus maybe antihistamines from af to o and you could use rephresh +/- 3 days before suspected o. Try to not have the Big O from now on. And diet wise you could maybe just dont snack inbetween meals and limit to 3 meals/day and I personally would not take any supps as calcium and try to make food choices on lower fat side (i mean avoid things like avocado/ creamsauces in general oily or fatty things) Have you up until now always been one to use a lot of Salt? Atomic doesnt think it says and for my sway im even using more salt then i usually do.

The benadryl could be taken 1-2 hours before attempt if you feel you have a lot of ewcm otherwise the antihistamines dry it up quit well (for me)

I'm sure others (Atomic) will have more/better advice for you but hope it helps anyway..
    Good luck!!

I'm not sure where you heard that about the diet but it's not true, and it's never to late to start the diet. Diet is the number 1 most important sway factor, with best results when started at least 12w before. If you can't put off TTC, I'd nonetheless start doing the LE diet strictly ASAP/immediately, including skipping breakfast if possible (or you can skip dinner....the important part is to have 12-16 hours between meals overnight, however you wish to accomplish that), going completely vegetarian, no snacking, low protein, low fat, and low overall cals...you'll want to track calories and grams of fat & protein for a week or 2 to make sure you're staying in the limits (dependent on your BMI and activity level). If you don't conceive right away, and often you won't, you'll have a month on the diet the next time you try...with odds of pink improving over time. Every little bit counts!

Don't worry about calcium or take extra, we think that actually sways blue. Don't restrict salt, it doesn't sway, and in fact HIGH salt may sway pink,

    Are you exercising at all?

Your first month TTC, if you insist on starting in July, I WOULD use rephresh every 3 days and Zyrtec or Benadryl 1-2 hours before you BD. Definitely just one attempt at positive OPK. I'd even add in a long abstain if DH is under 35, 7-10 days. Basically as strict as possible since you haven't had enough time on diet. I'd continue these tactics until your 4th month TTC, then drop the rephresh and antihistamine, drop abstsin and instead have DH release regularly (every 2-4 days) by himself or using a condom with you, keep the one attempt at positive OPK but add a second attempt 4 days later.

    My Ovulation Chart
currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP

TTC #1 - swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!

Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic

Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Thanks ladies for the quick responses! I swear I read on here if you start the diet right before ttc then your testosterone rises and sways blue. If I find it I will reference it so maybe one of you can comment on it if it is wrong. I'm glad that I can still use a modified le diet that makes me feel like I can do it to the best of my ability. Also the tip about skipping dinner is helpful to me because I can't go without breakfast but I can definitely go without dinner.

I am not exercising...just chasing around a 3.5 yr old boy and 17 month old boy =) Pretty much I don't often sit down but don't have any scheduled excersize. I will look into the Rephresh and benedryl as well =)

Thanks again for all your help ladies for clarifying some things!

I'm sure you're thinking of exercise, which can potentially raise T if started right before you conceive. But we don't know that it's a big effect or would for sure sway blue. Personally I doubt if one is on the diet when exercising. Cardio is SUCH a great tactic, that if you can possibly manage it I'd try to do it if I were you. Diet + exercise is getting amazing results.

No, any time you are on LE Diet is beter than nothing. It is exercise that you need to be on for at least 6 weeks or your T may go up and then take a little while to fall. We are getting best results with diet longer than 12 weeks, but 4 or 6 weeks is better than nothing.

I have seen tons of women when I was back on Ingender who did not do any type of diet but simply took calcium and/or ate more dairy and limited sodium. I call them "boy moms" because they overwhelmingly got opposites doing this. It was one of the first things I noticed when I started researching swaying that made me think it didn't add up, because if it was just the minerals then those ladies should have been getting good results with that approach but they got terrible results.

Whatever else you do in the here and now, stick with one attempt if you proceed with TTC. That has gotten good results for us.

I agree that if you're doing diet and exercise it probably does not cause any increase in T levels, but just trying to play it safe and optimize odds.

SO the "Boy Moms" ate higher calcium and lowered sodium?

I have two boys, and I really don't remember my diet at the time, but I walked 45 minutes every night for years before I conceived my first, and with the second I didn't do exercise due to surgeries from complications from having the first. I am pretty sure that we BD day of positive OPK and then skipped the next day and then BD the second day after O. Unfortunately I can't exercise other than walking (due to said surgeries) but if we don't get pregnant this first cycle then maybe I can "try" to add my walking back in for next attempt.

Also, I diffuse lavender at bedtime now, haven't done that previously. Also, using sylk (preseed with two boys).

I have been doing the diet for the past week and skipping dinner is working SO MUCH better than skipping breakfast!! I can't quite function on 1200 calories a day but I did lower my normal calories quite a bit and am trying to keep fat/protein at a decent level a day.

I am a believer in the timing of BD as gender determining...I guess we will see =) Thanks everyone!

They didn't change their diets (back a few years ago on InGender when I was on there at first, diet was thought to be one of the weakest sway "factors") and just took supplemental calcium and lowered sodium intake. Boy after boy after boy.

Walking is fine, it should go 60 min. 45 min. esp. with a boy friendly diet may build muscle mass and sway blue. It's fine if you can't do the exercise, not everyone does (I didn't). Just something that has gotten good results.

Skipping dinner works better for some and that is fine!

I hardly ever have anyone do 1200. I vastly prefer people do 1500-1800 unless they are like 4 10 and normally only eat 1200 cals a day.

You can believe in timing if you want - we allow that. The case against timing from a science perspective is here http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html but there are many people who believe in it and it is fine if you want to include it. Just be sure you stick with that one attempt - that has gotten us a pretty consistent 70-75% pink regardless of day of intercourse.

So I have my husband on board and today is the first day of bd after my period. I tell him we should dtd every 4 days until I get a positive opk then just dtd that day an that's all. I told him to wear a condom until positive opk. He looks at me like I'm nuts (using condoms when trying to get pregnant lol). So question is: is it important to wear condoms before the pos opk or does it matter? Thanks
