Hi, I've been on the LE diet / vegetarian (no meat at all), exercise 60minutues 6x/ week and fiber (most of the time). I've been on this vegetarian diet (limited diary if at all) and exercise since February. However I haven't been taking folic acid. I'm going to start taking it now but wanted to try in a month... should I wait longer before TTC. thanks

Hi, sounds like you're doing well with the diet and exercise, well done! Atomic says you should be on the folic acid three months prior to ttc; this is standard advice to anyone ttc anyway but I think particularly so on the le diet to make it as healthy as possible for a potential baby without compromising a sway.x

Is folic acid also part of the sway? Also i've lost 10lbs - down to 110lb 5'3 petite.

I would not hold off for that. Start it now and it's fine.

Do not wait. TTC in June. There is a big difference between ideal and reality and you are fine.

Folic acid is necessary for a healthy pregnancy. It's not to do with swaying.

Thanks so much Atomic. Still losing weight - was 121lbs then I dropped quick to 114/115lb and at 109lb. Not wanting to but between veggie diet / almost vegan (not much diary / cheese) and exercise...

Started folic acid 1600mcg a day! Thanks!!
