Hello,
I've been TTC a girl with the help of atomic and a personalized sway plan. I fell pregnant in December and had a gender blood test at 16 weeks that confirmed girl. Today in my 20 week scan the sonographer found boy parts. Feeling completely gob smacked and don't know what to believe now. I'm pretty sure I saw boy parts too![]()
I has a specific gender blood test in the UK by gtldna. I've read other tests like harmony can be inaccurate for gender but that's because they are not predominantly for gender. Not sure why that matters, if u/s showed boy...but mind is going crazy.

Have you had a chance to talk to your doctor about this? He/she would hopefully know more about the accuracy of each method and be able to tell you which one to trust. Wow. I can only imagine your confusion!

Atomic says to believe blood tests over ultrasound as the ultrasound tech is only human and can make mistakes. I totally agree but I too would be a wreck if first told girl, then boy. FX the blood test is right.
Me: 35 years old. Was an infant nanny and birth and postpartum doula. Now a full time SAHM.

Harmony has a better accuracy than those tests. I personally know of a woman that got a girl from that blood test but has had numerous scans since with different techs and has been unmistakable boy. Good luck and I hope you get the outcome you want!

Thank you for your support. As I'm in the UK we don't see GP about pregnancy or to confirm scans or tests. I can only go on what the sonographer has said and the company who run the gender test. I didn't get a photo of the u/s relevant parts, we just saw it on the screen.
This is my second child and at our DS scan it said boy and we convinced ourselves the scan was wrong and did loads of research about it. Well he was a boy and now we have him would never dream of him being anything different. I can't go through the same ordeal of trying to convince myself the scan was wrong. I just can't believe after the sway and getting the blood test as a girl that the scan shows a boy.
Blood tests are supposed to be 95% accurate but if someone in the lab has made a mistake - either not checked for the Y chromosome properly or mixed up my results with someone else, whatever, then how I can rely on them?
I hadn't wanted to be in the position of disappointment and when I got my blood test results I was really prepared for it to be a boy. But as the results was girl I let myself be completely free to want my girl and now I've been through the emotion of knowing I have a girl, for it all to be taken away.
Thank you again for your thoughts - I feel like I just need to let out some emotion!

What a terrible situation to be in. Most of us here can relate to hoping/praying pink and getting blue (or vice versa), but to be given apparent confirmation of your desired gender and then have it thrown into question... ugh. That's really rough. I'm so sorry.

The blood tests are supposed to 99% accurate, especially if they are done well after 10 weeks. I'd be contacting the gender blood test company and demanding a re-test
