DH only abstained for 4 days...is it still possible to conceive a girl?

Hi all!

I posted this question over on IG, but haven't gotten any responses. So DH and I made our first attempt on Tuesday night. I had wanted for DH to abstain for a week, but because O came a few days early, it didn't happen that way. I've been doing the le diet, and I'm hoping that DH's age (38), and the fact that he drinks beer everyday will help our odds, but I just hate that we weren't able to have a longer abstinence. Has anyone here conceived a girl with only a 4 day (or thereabouts) abstain? Would DH's age and beer drinking be enough to lower his sperm count? TIA ladies!

I don't think frequency for DH matters too much for swaying purposes. What matters is that you have 1 attempt which it sounds like you did.

It is absolutely still possible to have a girl, and probably the only difference between a four-day abstain vs a seven-day abstain is that you reduce your odds of birth defects.

It's always possible to have a girl. From what I've learned, 38 is not old enough to be a big girl factor, and beer (versus hard liquor) every night isn't either, BUT in conjunction with an LE lifestyle on your part, definitely could help sway more that way.

No matter what, a girl is always possible!

On this site we track our results a bit differently which allows us to better single out each individual sway tactic to see if it is really working. abstain has been totally meh for us - lower than the overall success rates of the site. If it's swaying, it isn't by much, plus it really cuts odds of conception as well. I would not feel bad about your sway at all.
