New swayer, amazed by this forum!

Hi, I joined this forum a while back and kind of forgot about it but now I've had a proper read I'm literally amazed at all the info on here and Atomic's knowledge! Feel like I have a bit of support behind my swaying when I read everyone's stories.
I have thought of a sway myself based on info and have loosely started last week to strictly going for it from today. Should I buy a plan to make sure I'm doing things right? Hoping to convince my dh a personalised plan is a good idea!

I'm doing the LE DIET, hopefully doing ok I have cut calories massively, this last week I've been losing weight. I drink 2 mugs of peppermint tea with 2 aspartame sweeteners in each drink. I've been drinking diet pop, so containing aspartame and caffeine, I don't like coffee I know it sways but just can't bring myself to drink it! Is there an alternative or is the diet fizzy ok? I drink a lot, probably 6 cans a day! No breakfast or snacking, having brunch or lunch then dinner. My husband smokes (he had given up for 4 months before we conceived ds) but has taken up smoking again. We are hoping to try when I O at the end of August as we go on holiday in September and I know I can't do the LE diet when we are away so really hoping to catch before we go. Anything I can add? I think I have high testosterone (just my opinion) I have exessive hair growth, thick dark and grows back so quickly and strong. I have stray dark hairs on my chest and chin so these lead me to believe I do have high T. I'm also not a laid back person I'm definitely a stressed person. I'm taking 1200mg folic acid but that's the only supp.
Any advice much appreciated! My husband thinks we should get what God gives us as I have had 2 mc before our son and I do know what he is saying but I so want a daughter and he does too so why not help things along if we can!
Meant to say still hAving chicken but very limited and a lot less meat than I would normally have!

    Hi and welcome!!

Are you making sure to get your minimums in?? 1500-1800 cals for most people, 40-50 g protein, 30-60 g fat??

Since you are getting those dark hairs, you may be better off on our alternate diet, it's better for testosterone levels. 5 from the top in this thread. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html

If you don't like coffee, no worries, tons of people have gotten girls without it. No magic bullets - you're always free to pick and choose the stuff you like to do!

if at all possible I'd have you add in cardio exercise 60 min at least 4 days a week and more like 6-7 is better. And stick with one attempt in your fertile window, such as 1 unprotected BD on the day of your first positive OPK, for an example!! Over time if you don't get pregnant, we can add in more attempts as we go.

Really appreciate your reply Atomic, I have made an appointment with my doctor and I'm hoping to have my hormone levels tested. Really worried now that if I do have high testosterone its going to mean no pink for us
Are there things I can do to bring down testosterone? Does Vitex do this? I had looked into getting some of this but was really uncertain about when I should take it? If we are not trying this cycle can I just start taking it (on cd3 at moment) and keep taking it till when if we are trying next cycle?
Although I am thinking maybe we should hold off on trying since I'm feeling pretty negative about my chances!

You can't start vitex before you go into the doctor because it will skew your bloodwork.

No hard evidence even shows that high T actually does anything for swaying. I know that is the conventional wisdom and I do find it more plausible than some ideas out there BUT no one has ever tested T levels before pregnancy to affilate that to gender of baby conceived. It's all very nebulous data based on PCOS and personality quizzes and so I don't want you to get overly hung up on it. Even if it is T levels, the nice thing is that it is probably a perceived change in T levels so if you started off super high in T, and dropped to only moderately high, that would still be perceived by your body as a drop in T levels and very well may be the drop that sways and not the level in and of itself if that makes sense.

The entire diet we do is based on the idea that we'll lower overall fertility levels and thus hormones as well via diet. The PCO-type diet is especially good at this (better than vitex!!) Not everyone should use the herbal supps and I"d wait to hear what your doctor has to say before taking anything.
