Hi everyone,
I am hoping that some of you lovely ladies can help to put my mind at rest.
I have just had a failed PGD IVF cycle at Genesis in Cyprus and now I am terrified about my general fertility.
The pretest before we went revealed that I have low AMH (7.14 pmol / 1 ngml) and an AFC of 10. I am 33.
I believe I was over suppressed my cycle and am obviously a poor responder because only 5 eggs retried. 4 fertilised but only 1 made it to day 5 and it was a grade C morula.
The doctor there basically bluntly told me that I have poor quality eggs and that I need to start ttc naturally straight away and seek fertility treatment in 12 months if still not pregnant.
I wish I had never had IVF because I would be none the wiser about these levels and egg quality etc. I conceived my son two years ago on the first month so I was shocked when he said he thinks I have bad quality.
Anyway, some people have said that low AMH etc doesn't mean that I won't conceive easily but none the less I am now terrified that I won't be able to have any more children, let alone a girl!
I have purchased a sway plan from atomic but I am scared that I am going to crack and cheat because I just want to be pregnant asap rather than doing the best sway!
Has anyone else had their fertility tested but still managed to conceive naturally relatively quickly?
Many thanks for any guidance!

Worried about fertility and swaying - low AMH

Your AMH is low but you're AFC is not horrible and you definitely have age on your side. Protocol can make a huge difference. You can also try taking DHEA for a few months and try again. I would not go back to Genesis because if you are anything other then a 20 something-year-old with a great reserve, they just do not have any success there.
A change in protocol might make a big difference for you but unfortunately the only way to find out is to cycle again

Were you stimmed with Menopur only? Adding more FSH (Gonal F/Follistim) with a different protocol could really make a huge difference in quality and numbers.

Thanks both.
I had Suprefact 0.5 for about 10 days and then started 375iu Fostimon (increased to 450iu and then 600iu for the last two days). Stimmed for 14 days in total. I don't think the long protocol suited me and I was definitely over supressed at the beginning).
I am now happy to try naturally - I am just really worried that my egg quality is poor but hoping that natural swaying will be more successful as opposed to drugs that could have been too much for my body to take.

IVF and natural fertility doesn't have anything to do with eachother. Your body knows what to do.

Thank you NBP for the reassurance.
I am more and more keen just to be pregnant now - a girl would be a bonus but I will feel lucky to just be pregnant and provide a sibling for my son.
I wish I had never found out my AMH really - was thinking that many women who have low AMH never find out that they have it because they just get pregnant naturally.

Thanks so so much BGQ! You have been such an amazing support and so kind of you to pop up here and give me some extra reassurance. I have always been a worrier and I think I am just letting my worries take over instead of being rational. You have been my saviour these past few (stressful) weeks.
It just seems like every day getting towards my fertile window is dragging! Once we actively start ttc hopefully I will feel much better about it all and more positive. Can't wait to get my sway plan!
Thank you so much once again for helping me calm myself down about it all.
