Ttc while sick :(

For those of you who conceived while sick or in a month where you had a bad illness , did you have a boy or girl ? I'm ttc boy but of course a horrible cold with a mild fever has to get my a few days before O . I had this last month too and it delayed O . I'm wondering if I should skip this month since illness sways girl . my question though is if you conceive after the illness is gone , like if O is delayed , does it still count ? Is your body still sending the message that a girl would be better ? & what about delayed O ?.. did anyone conceive on a month their O was delayed ? If so what did you have ? I'm
Concerned that delayed O might be another signal to the body that a girl would be better .

Sorry for the rambling . Feeling down .. every time my sway is going perfect something like this happens

Should also add that I am on amoxicillin for sinus infection .

I have read in other posts that sickness sways girls, but not sure how much.

Yeah I know it sways girl & antibiotics sway boy .. just not sure if any of this is enough for me to skip this month completely or not

I do not think antibiotics DO sway boy. I know that's what some other sites say but I have never seen any convincing evidence that they do - and in light of how probiotics were strong blue swayers for us I seriously doubt that it's a good idea to expect antibiotics to do anything for a blue sway.

I would personally skip this month. I rarely tell people to do that, but it has seemed to be the case that people who conceived when ill did have more girls overall than those who did not.

Strangely (because I have a larger family and I have been often sick in my life) I never managed to get pregnant in months I was ill around ovulation. I do remember certainly TTC during months I was sick, but I never conceived then.

Thank you atomic ! Unfortunately we bd'd yesterday morning .. opks were negative and cm was creamy .. I thought I still had a few days until positive opks/ O.. actually I thought O would be delayed so i thought I had another week lol . But yesterday evening cm was ewcm and opk was positive .. so since we had already bd'd that morning I figured I might as well give it the best shot possible and go for another attempt ... I certainly didn't want just one attempt in the fertile window as that seems to be a pink thing so we Bd'd again last night . Temp was up this morning so I have to see if it stays that way . If so , looks like I O'd sometime last night . Gonna bd again tonight probably just in case I didn't actually O and maybe will O in the next 24 hours it will give me 3 attempts . We did abstain for 3 days prior to yestersay which is good according to the stats. & we used preseed the second attempt . Dh & I have both been taking all of our vitamins and I've been sticking to the he diet . If I skipped this month I didnt want to do next month because that's the month we conceived dd2 and then I would have 2 children with birthdays very close together and I didn't want that so I would wait until january. As for my illness , I seem to be fine today and yesterday for the most part besides a stuffy snotty nose . & apparently it's not enough to throw off O so I'm trying to stay positive . I honestly can't wait to be off all the supps and he diet so I would hate to skip based on this one factor alone. I feel like there is always going to be something each month in my sway that's not perfect so may as well just go for it and hope for the best . If it's a failed sway that's okay . I told dh if we don't get our boy this time I am going high tech next time ! lol he didn't object so that's something haha we always said 3 and we are done but I think I can convince him lol .but I guess we will see how this month plays out .. maybe I'll be waiting to January after all if I'm like you and won't conceive while ill. But if not please send some blue dust my way !!

ive only conceived 1 of my kids while ill, i wasnt swaying at the time as didnt know about it but i got my 1st girl after 4 boys that cycle. i had gastro (no medication taken for it) and after her birth i found this site and realised the gastro most likely had a huge swaying effect on me because it drastically lowered my blood sugar due to me not bin able to eat anything and restricted us to 1 bd attempt that whole month too, both of which are pink friendly and completely different to how i got my boys. the following year i did my best to re-create those pink sway tactics when ttc my next pregnancy (minus the gastro!) in the hopes of having a sister for my little girl and it worked! so for me illness did sway pink.

Mine was just a cold & it didn't delay ovulation or throw anything off vitamin wise , I still kept to the diet and didn't have any stomach issues so hoping it didn't ruin my sway !
Atomic - I lied .. what I thought was a positive opk yesterday was not . I got a true positive tonight . So we will be bd'ing again tonight . I think my spiked temp was invalid because I was really hot this morning and it was later than normal .

OK yes like I mentioned in the other thread in that case you do need to proceed with more attempts this month!! Good luck and blue dust headed your way.

Again, please do not put ANY stock into "number of days abstain before BD" that has nothing to do with anything and we have absolutely no way of knowing if those people even ovulated when they thought that they did. The only, only, only time I ever had 4 days of abstain before conceiving was when I got my girl. My husband is like the Energizer bunny haha
