    Silica & biotin

Hi Dr, hope you are feeling better now.

I have a question for you.

I am looking for hair supplements. silica & biotin capsules

Do you think i can use it specifically when you are planning to do IVF/PGD.

I also heard that they both reduce hair loss. I read mixed reviews on Silica & biotin capsules.

    Appreciate any response.

    Hi Mykids

Do you know what is causing the Hair loss? Is it slowly thinning or falling in chunks?

The reason I ask is the underlying cause should be identified as the cause may have impact on your IVF/PGD .

Silica and Biotin are great for hair and so is Nettle (good for Iron). No impact on IVF.

    Big Hugs Dr H

Thank you for your reply Dr.

I think i am loosing hair due to stress.it is slowly thinning. I also noticed that i am loosing hair when i take head bath & i also had flakes. so its getting better.

How much biotin & silica would you recommend. I am taking 1200mcg biotin.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

    Hi

I would take a good all around pre-natal with Biotin at around 100 ug (sorry not right symbol as do not know how to do it on here). The other thing is Iron which should be in your pre-natal. You could also add more Folic Acid and drink one cup of Nettle Tea, great for fertility, Iron and Hair.

Also, Jojoba oil rubbed into your hair and scalp is great. Helps with the flakes and is great on hair.

    Big Hugs Dr H xxx
