Hi Atomic and any other current blue swayers![]()
I just want to clarify the latest advice for blue swayers for bding as I'm active in the april 2ww and there are some blue swayers who I want to make sure are having their best chance.
From memory its to try and have 3 attempts at pos opk which I have always relayed. My question is I have seen so many times that eod sways strongly blue, so why isn't eod or eod plus attempt at pos opk the recommendation?
Not trying to ruffle any feathers at all but by having an attempt at pos opk plus possibly two the following day (which more often than not would be o day) isn't that really only one attempt as o day attempts are apparently not considered favourable (again understandable). I apologize as I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times, I'm just not overly familiar with blue swaying and am a little confused![]()

The bd question again....

A few different reasons.
1) about 3/4 of my blue swayers WANT SHETTLES. They do not want to be having EOD attempts. They don't do or want to do the every 2-4 day BD either. The ONLY way to get 3 attempts in fertile window with Shettles is the way we do it.
2)A lot of my blue swayers' hubbies cannot BD that much. If they tried to do EOD, what invariably happens is that they do ok for the first couple times and then cannot BD. This seems to invariably end up with couples having one attempt on O-3 or O-2 and then they can't BD again. The guy is just plain out of steam. Either he can't get started at all or he can't finish. So they end up with one attempt in fertile window anyway. I find much, much, much better results with performance to have them BD (or hubs release) every 2-4 days and then hit it with at least 2 attempts in fertile window, 3 is even better but at least you get two that way.
I actually do sometimes have couples that regularly DTD daily, to do EOD because the husband has been proven to be able to do it that much. But it's really the minority of people, 5% of the blue swayers or so I'd guess.
3)EOD can very easily end up being just one viable attempt. IF as we believe girl mamas make less EWCM and girl daddies have lower sperm count, we can't rely on stuff to be left over from O-3. It may be all gone. So then another attempt O-1 will be THE attempt. O day you'd skip, and then that's it. Game over. Yes, you could tack a pos OPK onto that to be sure there's two, but the thing is, the issue with hubbies performing can still come into it. EOD sex is more depleting for many guys than every 2-4 day release, so not only do people possibly end up with only one attempt, their hubby is less able to BD and also possibly making less sperm too.
4)A lot of people get positive OPK 36-48 hours before O anyway so it's actually O-2-ish and O-1 instead of both those attempts being on O Day.
5)Finally, it's a practicality and psychology thing. EOD is a lot of sex for some couples and the more you try for sex, the more likely things start to come up that interfere with that. I find it's easier for people to make a point of a day or two when they're "all in" committed to TTC instead of trying to keep that up every other day all month long. It just doesn't work for people in the real world. Blue swayers tend to take it really, really hard when they can't do part of their sway just so and I find it really helps them to stay positive to make their goals easy to achieve. EOD sets quite a few people up for failure and blue swayers take failure really hard.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks for asking! I think it does help for people to see that I do put a lot of thought into this stuff, not just on autopilot!

Thanks for your thorough explanation Atomic. As you've mentioned somewhere a lot of blue swayers are very private about their sways, it seems every possible pink question has been asked and answered in the public forums but not so for the blue.
