    OPK help!

    Hi all!

So I my AF has not returned since I gave birth to my DS in August 2016. Recently I have cut back on breastfeeding and am waiting to attempt to get the first egg release. I'm TTC a girl. I've been doing as much of the LE diet as I can with breastfeeding and have been skipping breakfast for a couple months now. This evening I took an OPK and it had a faint line. With timing to TTC a girl should we bd tonight or wait for the dark line on the OPK, or do dark line +12?
    Thanks everyone!

OPKs will almost always have a second line of some sort, regardless of where you're at in your cycle. You should wait until the OPK is positive to have your attempt, meaning wait until the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line. Good luck! xx

For ttc a girl wait till the line is darker but not positive as this will land your attempt 24 hours before ovulation which is more boy, ideally you want a 2-3 day cut off before ovulation
    Hope this helps x

Faint lines are negative and believe it or not, if your hubby peed on the strips HE could get a faint line like that sometimes!! It's because your body uses that hormone for lots of different things and it's only when it reaches a high enough concentration that it triggers O to occur.

Now, it very well may be that this is a fade in to your surge. When to BD is largely up to you. If you want a cutoff, you will probably want to BD when the line is dark, but not yet positive (positive is when test line is as dark or darker than control). Most of us have a kajillion timing opposites http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html and so we tend to just BD at first positive OPK since we want to get pregnant quicker and we get good results that way. Totally up to you, the important thing (especially to start with) is making sure you have just one attempt.

RE O+12 - O+12 is my very least favorite sway tactic. It doesn't work, is next to impossible to do, and even if you DO get it right, you won't get pregnant anyway. Full explanation here. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...9-no-12-a.html If you MUST do O+12, you can't BD 12 hours after first positive, you need to wait 48 hours after first positive (and expect to get lots of BFN doing this). The reason is because you will ovulate an average of 36 hours after that first positive, and then tacking 12 hours onto that makes it 48. But this is NOT an exact thing at all and you can end up either BD right at O OR missing O entirely that way - always the risk with O+12.

hope this helps! I know it's all very complicated so please feel free to hit me with more q's if you have them
