    Hi Selianne

Before we would start IVF, we would ask our patients to have a mammogram and any other tests to get the all clear. Cysts are very common. Are they painful at all? Have you had them checked ? Do you have a lot? PLEASE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM CHECKED!!!!!!!!! I unfortunately and do not wish to scare you lost my best friend at the age of 36 years old to what Doctors kept telling her were cysts. They truly are usually benign.

Now, if all the clear after all the test were done, yes you can proceed to IVF with monitoring.

Best of luck and I am here to help anytime.

    Big Hugs Dr H xx

    Thx dr. H,
I have 2 on my left breast and had an u/s and they are simply cyst. My gp doesn't want me to have a mammogram bc she thinks it's unnecessary. I will ask dr Lin if I need one before I cycle in nov.

    Hi Selianne

I would ask Dr Lin's opinion and I am sure they are just cysts and it is great that you had an U/S. They are so common really, but I suppose I always err the cautious side.

    Hi Selinanne,

I would like to know what Dr Lin suggests. I am cycling with him next April, and don't have any cysts (not that I can feel anyway), but wondering whether to pay for a mammogram anyway for reassurance. Dr P said in another thread that he doesn't believe IVF causes non-cancerous cysts to become cancerous. It's so hard to know what to think with so much conflicting advice.
