Hi everyone..
I'm 25 with no family history of twins however after having a miscarriage last year. My husband and I have decided to ttc twin boys so after a lot of internet reading, searching etc...
I am about to start the following plan.
folic acid 1200mcg though I have read that you want 6000mcg to ttc twins so I'll most likely be increasing this
vitex vitamins or prenatal or both? please tell me what do you think..is it safe to have them both? I heard that vitex also helps for period pains, however it can also prevent you from having twins.
Cassava root in every meal..
I have found also this during my search for conceiving twins..
calcium 500mg (1000mg per day), wild yams, maca root, and vitamin E
I am little afraid to start all these pills (Calcium, folic acid, vitamins) together without prescription from doctor.. is it safe?
though i am a little embarassed to talk to my doctor about this since i dont have a problem for conceiving..
So, what do you think???
how i am going to ovulate two eggs?
I really want to have healthy twins..please give me all your advice!!
Thanks!!

Don't take 6000 mcg of folic acid. I would take 2000 mcg of folate. You don't need that big dose at 25.
No vitex. Yes prenatals. Everyone should take prenatals to TTC a boy
I would not take all that other stuff. I have seen tons of people take them and literally none of them ever got twins and what a lot of them DID get was a really messed up cycle and some other weird side effects.
ESPECIALLY wild yams since they can't even be used by the body anyway. The diosgenin in them can't be used by the body without being processed in a lab into a cream form (and don't use that either)
No extra Vit. E, the amount in the prenatals is enough. I do not think extra Vit. E is acceptibly safe.
The best thing for twins is Clomid if you can get some.
If at all possible I'd consider eating a lot of full fat dairy, unlike all the herbs that actually seems to help a bit.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

That's my problem is that my doctor won't give me clomid she does not see a need for it yet even though i fought over 2 years to ttc my daughter. Are you sure that it could improve my chances? Everyone I know and stories i have heard it's more likely to have a singleton on clomid. Unfortunately it's hard to keep dairy down so much so that most of my calcium is from supplements per doctor's orders. Is there anything else that might help? Thanks for the advice!!

I am 100% sure it improves your chances vastly more than any of that other stuff.
yes, more singletons are conceived on Clomid. It is not a "magic twin pill" but it raises your odds of having twins enourmously, more than anything else.
Can you do butter? Even butter may help!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
