    Everyone is having baby girls

I know I'm sensitive to it
But OMG everyone is having baby girls
Every celeb that has given birth has had a girl
And everyone I know in real life has either had their girl or is announcing they are pregnant with a girl

Trying to ignore it and be happy for them
It's killing me! I'm so jealous

In the same boat. 2 friends having girls or people i know just had girls. Girl stuff everywhere now its christmas.

6th boy due next year. Im done having babies so it will always be a what could have been rather than a reality.

Lucky im piping an idea for a 'mum and 6 sons club'. I was thinking fitness fun with Mum and 6 sons. Ive got to make the most if it [emoji16]

I know how that is. I usually tell myself that it doesn't necessarily mean their life is suddenly better or happier. I try to ignore it when possible and just pretend like it doesn't bother me. I'm pretty busy at this point in my life so I don't have a whole lot of time to obsess over having a daughter or other people having one (and yes I realize I'm a mod on this site lol but I'm quite happy for those here that get their DG).

Omg I've been thinking this exact same thing. This year every baby announcement has been girl, girl, girl. Only last week a friend said she was finding out gender and I was convinced it was a boy, it had to be, someone has to have boys other than me, but no it was a girl.

    It's just everywhere!
Took my son to a local babygroup and he was one of the only boys
A sea of pink and hair clips everywhere!

Maybe I should come off of social media as that's where I see a lot of it!

I help a friends baby girl yesterday and it just felt so strange holding a girl, it felt so distant and like it will never happen for me!

Such hard emotions but just have to plod on and keep busy!

I think we get fixated on everyone just having GIRLS because we want one so badly. The only way I can make myself feel better is my realizing I’ve done (am doing) all that I know possible to help sway for a girl, I have a beautiful son, and if it just doesn’t happen, it doesn’t and I tried.... I just repeat that mantra a lot as it nears time to start trying.

I just wanted to pipe in.

I recently heard something that could be what your describing.
It's something called synchronicity. When you want something so bad (e.g. a baby girl)... you subconsciously send that thought out into the universe. By doing so you attract that.
Have you ever noticed when you want a certain car ... you suddenly start seeing that particular car everywhere?
Apparently what I heard is that if you are seeing your desired wish everywhere... It's the universe's way of telling you that you are getting close to manifesting it. You are close to having it.
I am not sure if this is true.. but I swear with the car example it has happened to me!
I hope this is the case for us all!

In regards to what Robin said, I think with seeing girls everywhere, it's just because we want it so badly that we notice it more. There's no magic behind it and it's actually a real phenomenon called Baader Meinhof Phenomenon. It's a subconscious thing and is due to selective attention. Basically when something gets our attention (like wanting a girl), suddenly we notice it more and more. It's not because the universe is mocking us or telling us something, it's because we're more attuned to it so it seems like there's an explosion of baby girls but really our selective attention has got us noticing it more intensely then confirmation bias kicks in. Here's some info on it if anyone's interested: https://science.howstuffworks.com/li...phenomenon.htm

That does make a lot of sense actually!
I seem to be obsessed with families that have one boy and one girl
I swear I ALWAYS see this family set up everywhere I go!
But I also see lots of other combinations but I almost ignore them...

And it's like I'm a magpie searching for something shiny, any hint of pink or girlyness in a pram and I stare and obsess
Whereas if I see a boy baby I just switch off

How awful does that make me sound!

I'm having my first scan soon and I don't even want a scan picture because I just know I will obsess over the nub etc I would rather just wait until the gender scan at 16 weeks! It's the not knowing that's killing me!

And yeah I keep telling myself, I did everything I could possibly do, my whole diet/body changed drastically so if that didn't produce a girl then I don't know what would!
