    How to proceed?

    Just got AF after TTC for the first time in June. I’ve been doing PCOS LE since beginning of February and exercising since beginning of March (but totally fell off the exercise wagon during June 2ww[emoji30]). Hubby and I hope to have a baby prior to 9/1/2019 (for school year reasons) and I just realized based on my estimated AF dates I basically have one less month to TTC than I thought - 4 cycles.
    A few questions:
    1 - how much have I screwed up by mostly foregoing exercise for 1.5 weeks?
    2 - in June we had one attempt in evening of morning positive opk, which (per chart) was on O day. Any reason to adjust this and try to aim for earlier? I was surprised that opk+ ended up being on O day instead of a day or so in advance...
    3 - related to #2, being as I only have 4 months, should I switch to e4d instead of one attempt?
    4 - I’ve lost around 11lbs and worry I don’t have a lot more to lose without cutting calories more. I have around 1500 calories (on non-cheat days, maybe cheat once a week?) and I worry cutting that isn’t super attainable. Should I just suck it up and cut calories? Just keep with my current 1500 and see how it goes?
    Thanks for reading my novel [emoji39]. I was really thrown off by my June cycle and when previously TTC I’ve gotten pregnant my first try (but then miscarried each time) so I’m a little thrown off by not being successful last month so I guess I’m just questioning a lot of things. [emoji4]

    1)Not at all.

    2)May have just been a fluke, usually you'll O 24-36 hours later. If you only have a few months to try, I'd go to every 4 days in the "Monday/Thursday" pattern instead though!

    3)It's up to you if you want to give it one more month with one attempt, but yes do go to e4d fairly soon!!

    4)I don't want you cutting cals any more than that. What's your BMI?? If you cut back too far you will stop ovulating and that is a big no-no when u have a limited amount of time, since you'll have fewer attempts!!

    My BMI is 24. So yes I could definitely lose some more weight I just haven’t been that low in over a decade so it seems almost unattainable. But maybe it’s more of a mental thing...
    So how much more likely am I to not get pink if I do e4d? What are the downsides and upsides to switching from one attempt to e4d?

    Another question - I did jump and dump for last months attempt. Should I ditch that tactic?

    1)Well, that's a good spot to be because you can keep losing and typically your ovulation will not be delayed at that BMI. If I'm reading this right, you don't even know you'll stop losing, right? this is just a hypothetical concern? Let's see what happens, I suspect the weight will continue to some off and even if it doesn't, there is no magic pink weight, as long as you've lost at least a little weight on a lower protein diet it's all good.

    We can't compare one attempt to e4d like that. Two different groups of people generally do them and we have not (and cannot in this forum) do a side by side study that compares them the way you're thinking of it. Since people switch from one attempt to e4d, the people doing e4d have typically been on diet longer and are possibly lower in fertility and this may skew the results vs. one attempt people who are often just starting off with swaying and may be more fertile.

    e4d is less stressful and better chances of conception. May be slightly lower odds of pink. One attempt may be better odds of pink but is stressful and lowers chances of concieving.

    Just gradually extent the amount of time before J and D. If you did it immediately, to to 5 min, then 10, etc

    Yes just a hypothetical concern. I have no reason to think I couldn’t physically lose enough to be a 21 BMI or whatnot. Aside from my own will power. This diet thing is really testing me and I’ve started to gain again recently. [emoji22]
    Gotta get back in the swing of things I guess.

    Don't set yourself up to fail, though. ANY weight loss, even if it's just a small amount, will only help your sway. i only lost 3 lbs before I conceived my daughter. There is no rule that you have to get down to a certain BMI. I have that BMI there to prevent people from losing too much, not because I have any evidence that you have to be a certain BMI in order to get a girl. Just regroup and go back on diet without worrying about how much you are going to lose or how much you should be losing. It's time on diet that has mattered and not any set amount of weight loss.
