    Quick vent from "crabby mom"

I have turned into the sarcastic snap queen. I'm trying very hard to not snap at everyone but finding it difficult. One issue is I'm one week off a chemical miscarriage and my hormones are still out of whack so dh "PLEASE dh give me a break"! Secondly,my 3 yr turned 3 Monday so he aged out of early intervention and started 5 days of integrated preschool (high functioning autism) yesterday. Hello stress and sad for me missing him

Last but NOT LEAST my diet is already like that of a toddler as in I hardly like anything so the LE diet is really hard! I'm still holding at 109 (5'7") but finding the right foods has been difficult. I've gone to whole foods and trader Joe's. I promise I have read the FAQ's but a lot are veggie related and I'm such a baby I only really like broccoli and corn. The orange julius is yummy but that's really just snacky. yesterday I could only get my calorie count to 1100. I was 500 for sodium but I had some rice pasta with unsalted butter and low fat ricotta so my fat content was over at 62 g. I bought some unsalted plain tomato sauce in a can maybe a small amount of that with some splenda just to sweeten a little maybe this would work. I eat the same thing for dinner 2 touch of salt rice cakes with 1 TBsp peanut butter and 1 Tbs straw jelly low sugar on each. I bought the wrong rice milk. It was the one with extra nutrients so I don't want to drink it. I use Over the Moon fat free milk. I have all the yoplait yogurts. What else for lunches or dinner for a picky eater? Anything would help. I need to get a grip here. The stress will ruin my sway. I'm also living on caf free diet Coke with Equal (lots). Could this cause a mouth sore? Any help would be greatly welcome and needed. Thanks. Need to run C to school!

Sorry about the stress - being hungry and feeling like you have nothing to eat doesn't help matters!!

I'm assuming you read all the stickies in the Dream Members section too? There are tons of meal ideas in there.

One easy way to get more calories is to switch to regular coke from diet coke. That will give you an easy 160 cals right there for every can you drink.

Broccoli and corn are fine to eat! Eat as much as you like. You can even top them with a little swiss cheese for a bit extra cals. Have you tried a matzo pizza? top a matzo with a thin layer of tomato sauce, a little cheese, and some chopped broccoli and microwave/bake it until bubbly - if you've never tried broccoli on top of pizza, it's really good. Or leave the broccoli out if you prefer. You can also try cooking broccoli in with your pasta and tossing it with a small amount of lemon, wine, and a pat of unsalted butter.

If you like cream cheese or hummus, you can try them on rice cakes instead of just PB and J day in and day out.

If you eat fruit, you can mix a carton of yoplait WITH fruit to make a kind of fruit salad.

Let me know some other things you like to eat - there are really tons of options available but it's hard when you give me only 3 things you like. Even if they are not the "best" options, we can work with what YOU like. The LE diet should not be torture, you should be able to stay on it and even be pretty happy while eating it.

Thanks (AGAIN). I love most carbs and chicken. Love all cereal including cream of wheat and oatmeal. Like all cheese including cottage.

I'm eating my first meal right now. Rice with low sodium plain sauce from a can with Parm cheese and milk with Benefiber
    580 cals
    1.5 fat
    62 carbs (too many)?
    18 fiber
    105 sodium

Thank you for always answering my posts with your fabulous knowledge. I have one more? But will pm you.

Can't you boost up your cals with chocolate and lollies if you like them? The majority of my girls were conceived with me eating low fat everything, drinking diet coke, eating lots of lollies, chocolate, junk really. VERY little protein and lots of carbs! It's easy to get high calories with treats...lol

They seriously call me the goody girl!! Can I eat chocolate? I'm afraid to even eat gummy bears or gummy peaches because off the jelly pectin. Obviously, I'm going extreme, but junk food always suits me well.

I ate loads of 'treats' at the end of my meals - sweets/candy (there are plenty without geletin if you look!), Weight Watchers deserts/cakes/cookies, bakewell/jam tarts, boiled sweets (hard candy) etc. If you love carbs and cheese how about a baked potato with cottage cheese? Try and find a kids pasta sauce (they're mostly veg and less sodium!) and make that last a couple of days with some pasta or rice. I also used to mix sodium free tinned tomatoes with roasted vegetables and have it on top of a tortilla wrap with a little cheese melted on the top! A bit of feta cheese mixed with cucumber and tomato and balsamic vinegar in a pitta bread - yum!

Thanks for the ideas. Still struggling but will figure it out. I'm so hungry right now but holding off until noon. Now I just need to find something satisfying to fill me to dinner!!
