I had my first attempt on Thursday 25 January. Since then I have come down with a heavy cold and sore throat and I feel horrible. I have been stuffing my face with food and have had big breakfasts every morningI dont really know how to get back into the swing if its a BFN (I will be testing in approx. 5 days at 10dpo. ALways got faint lines before at 10dpo). Right now I am not even obsessing over 2ww symptoms, I feel so poorly.... Strictly speaking I would have to skip the next attempt (would be around 29 February). I have little hope that I achieved pregnancy this cycle as we had over 14 days abstinence and my dh is 37..... There are times when I think, what the hell, just let someone else decide what you will have and stop swaying.... I am not in the right set of mind anymore but am worried I will regret this later... I am too scared to stop swaying, but cant get my act together.

aw, thanks girls. I have decided to just concentrate on getting well for now and eat what I want. I dont think I will ever be able to stick to the diet for longer than 3-4 weeks in one go, and so be it (luckily I only o on CD 23). I conceived a girl before without following a diet, so I must be capable of it in theory

There is a wicked cold virus going around here. Swept through our family and lasted over a week each. Take care of yourself first!

Oh nini, I feel the same way at the moment...well apart from being sick. I've really lost my mojo with swaying. Id be ecstatic to have a girl but I've really lost all willpower to keep at the diet. Its so hard when I'm making yummy snacks for my ds to eat. I'm sure at the end of the day he'd love a baby brother which is why I'm no pushing myself too much. I'll do what I can and leave the rest up to the baby gods
I hope you feel better soon. You know you can do it as you've done it before. Keep your eye on the prize. xxxmy amazing baby

Give yourself a break, it's ok. Remember, sickness drains your body too. Once you start feeling better, I think you'll regain your focus again. pH and blood glucose levels change almost immediately so I don't think you need to skip next month due to diet (altho of course for optimal results, you would skip it).
The good news is, coming down with an illness may have swayed extra pink for you if you do get a BFP this month.
I really, strongly suggest that your husband being 37, you guys not do 14 day abstain. If you HAVE to abstain, please make it 7 days.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Nini I came down with a really awful cold for a few days 2 weeks ago and stuffed my face. It was all girl friendly food but I ate loads to the point where I felt quite sick as think my stomach has shrunk on the girl diet so was struggling to cope with my crazy hunger. I always get really hungry when I have a cold. I'm still going to attempt next month though as I already skipped a month. That is if my next cycle ever starts...

Thanks everyone,
Atomic, 7 days abstinence is my goal, but I had a thrush before o and just didnt feel like dtd LOL.
Lavenderlime, I agree, I will probably not skip the next attempt, as the attempt afterwards would mean Christmas baby alarm (and I already have 2 Christmas babies, seems to be a fertile time of the year for me, March/ April).
Feel AF coming on now, cold has eased off. Plan to get back on diet and be extra strict after this weekend. xx
