Wondering if I lowered my Testesterone

My skin is the clearest its been in a loooooong time. I have not had any meat whatsoever in a month and have been on Saw Palmetto and Vitex for over a month.

Is the clear skin a good sign I have lowered Testesterone?? My mood does vary but I think thats because I am HUNGRY I see my mood shift after I eat my first meal at 12pm or 1pm. Seriously!

    Thoughts or similar experiences??

It is hard to tell without a blood test, but it sounds like you are having less symptoms of high testosterone and that is almost always a good thing. What other symptoms of lower testosterone are you having? I'm envying you right now!

I think any dietary change can result in skin changes, but it sounds promising!

Now I think I've raised my T levels, lol! I just had a little bit of a skin break out a bit yesterday and I never break out! Don't think I'm hairy though so that's good! Lack of food definitely makes me cranky! If you're doing the diet, you've probably lowered your T-levels. I'm just trusting in the diet and hoping it's lowering mine.

Out of the Blue, my skin has been rotten ever since I went off the pill in late September and everything I'm doing now (no meat, diet, Vitex, etc.) doesn't seem to have made it go away. My skin is always crummy the first few months of pregnancy, too, so I'm just trying to take it as a sign of my hormones being wacky ... which is hopefully a good thing!

Before I started swaying I had blood work and my Testos. was fairly high but after nearly a year on the diet is was extremely low (to low to conceive) but I still have most of the body signs that I have hogh testos. I asked my Dr about it and he said the most of the body signs can stick around for 1-2 years but the only one that stands out is clear skin. Most of they other signs will go away over time but only if your testos stays low for that long.... I wonder if that is why some sways I saw on ingender failed because the ladies were not on the diet long enough for it to be lowered.

My monthly blood work shows that my testos has been in the ok-low since late March so hopefully that is long enough. Currently trying to balance it out and getting blood work today to check again.

Purplepoet~ Don't know if I understand what your doc said about the clear skin- that would be a sign that would show quickly that T levels have been reduced?

If your pimples are caused by testosterone (not all are) then yes, clearer skin can be a benefit.

Other people have pimples that are more caused by bacteria and then those kind can actually get worse on a girl diet because the carbs feed the bacteria.

Here's my thread on zits (and also mouth sores if anyone is having those)

It depends on your doctor. Sometimes they will order both TSH and total testosterone, but there are a few other blood tests that can help diagnose PCOS. There is also a total testosterone test and a free testosterone test. I think my doctor did both. I will have to ask her next time I see her.
