I see alot of slim mums of boys at the gym but I think the difference is they may eat alot of lean protein with salads etc. And not so much carbs which in theory is quite healthy.
I'm aiming for an hour of cardio (which I find hard as tired from the diet) so my exercise isn't short and intense like it usually would be. I am eating empty carbs like cous cous and rolls with salad, no protein and keeping calories, fat and protein as low as I can. I am snappier at the moment due to feeling the pressure from feeling tired and low sugars. If I increase my food and sugars I feel more patient.
I'm hoping that I'm doing enough.
Today so far I did 30 mins on the gym bike at average pace but not high intensity like I usually would. Then 30 mins walking as fast as I could on the treadmill on an incline.
Lunch was: Salad leaves, vegetable cous cous, a small amount of low fat potato salad from Marks and Spencers and 2 soft rolls with heinz sandwich spread, no butter. Going to have a roll again for tea with salad and cous cous. Maybe a couple of starburst sweets if I feel too low with sugar levels

I think you're doing great chocolate! I think the LE rules are a bit different for you, since your on Metformin. Meaning that any exercise in any amount is good for your sway.
I think the boy moms we see at the gym are doing moderate exercise that may involve cardio, but they also weight train or do body weight exercises like Pilates and Yoga.
I know I did my fair share of cardio, but I also did weight training too. I never just did cardio, and I certainly never did 60+min! I may have occasionally when I used to run, but I always incorporated weight lifting or Yoga into my workout routines. Plus, I never worked out 6+ days a week. I stuck to the 3-5.

Don't even get me started on how I use to eat [emoji849]. I mean, I seriously was a Hobbit- breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack..

I think I only ever did 4 days a week too and indulged in chocolate or deserts and never kept up a healthy diet and lifestyle for too long where as girl mums I know seem to consistently eat and exercise in the same way

Just as an aside as the "other side of the unintentional LE lifestyle" -- I did weights. Heavy weights. 4x a week. For YEARS.
And I still think the crappy diet (I was eating SUCH low protein for the lifting I was doing -- which explains why I plateaued pretty often) and ALSO the tons of cardio I also did (biking, volleyball, hiking, even lawn mowing) outweighed the weights.

^^^agree! I think the diet and tons of cardio outweighed the weight lifting.
I know that I never did more than 20-45min of cardio with my weight lifting. If I did cardio only, it was maybe more than that but only 1-3 days a week, which is still moderate exercise.
I think all of us ladies will gladly give you are blue baby dust. Seriously, stock pile it [emoji6]!

I am off out to a pub for lunch tomorrow and it's my first attempt in 2 weeks. What do you think I should go for, avoid? Don't think I can get away without pudding and have my eye on a praline chocolate tart but they do also have sorbet
... Maybe that's better? Salad with roasted veg and halloumi which is probably quite fattening.... Or a carvery but I might not resist the meat or potatoes! They do thin crust pizza too, maybe that is best, they may do a healthy one

^^^I would get something pink friendly that works with what you're craving. Maybe the pizza? Or maybe the salad so you could indulge in a dessert besides sorbet. That's what I would do personally. That way the people you are with won't bat an eye at your dinner choice because of the dessert. I've had to fake people out that way numerous times. You'll still be within limits. Trust me!
