    Am I wasting my time

I desperately want to ttc a girl but feeling a little disheartened and wondering am I wasting my time.
I have 4 boys and one girl and am longing for another girl to complete our family.
I have a boy girl boy boy boy.
After my dd was born I conceived another girl but we lost her at 21 weeks into the pregnancy.
I also have had 3 early miscarriages which I don't know the sex of.
I was googling today and was reading an article that was saying some people can't carry certain sex and I'm wondering if that is true but it was just luck that I managed to carry my dd to full term.
Also am article says that your dh genetics from his family play a part and my husband dad comes from a mainly boy family too.
My sil just gave birth to a girl and I'm struggling with that and I'm wondering if I'm just wasting my time ttc a girl at all at this stage.

I am so sorry for your losses. It is so heartbreaking, especially when they are of our desired gender.

For one, there is no scientific reason someone can't carry a girl. There is only the possiblity of issues carrying a boy, and even those are pretty rare. So whatever article you read that said there are issues carrying a girl is 100% false. Especially when -- the other bright spot here for you -- you HAVE had a girl! Multiple girls!

We even have swayers on here who had the exact family makeup you have go on to have another girl. Swaying isn't a guarantee but isn't pointless for you either -- you aways have a shot at a girl and swaying can hopefully help influence your odds!

And my husband is one of 3 boys, 1 girl and his one brother with kids has 2 boys and a girl -- and we have a DD! And I'll be amazed if we end up with a boy at the end of my current pregnancy (though I desperately hope we do!)

Those assumptions you've read are totally untrue. There is NO evidence that anyone can't carry girls - none whatsoever. Some women can only carry healthy boys 50% of the time (they can still carry boys, but only half of them will be healthy - and this is very rare too BTW) but there is no similar condition that affects anyone's ability to carry girls. I have a full explanation of why that is here: https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum...by-gender.html

And gender does not run in famiies the way you're thinking of it. No one has boy genes or girl genes. The entire human race would have died out a long time ago if that was the case!! I have an essay about that here: https://genderdreaming.com/forum/gen...make-boys.html

Thank you both for your replies. I'm feeling a bit down about it all at the minute and scared to try.

Also in terms of diet, I am trying so hard on the diet front but I'm already a busy mom and find it hard to stick to a LE diet. Will that really damage my chances.

Ttcgirl39 I’m totally with you..... I feel just the same and I had one successful girl sway where all I did was the vinegar douche and ate lots of raspberries and took cranberry extract as I didn’t know anything else about swaying at that time (5 years ago) I’m doing things different to my previous sway as lot of things I did before swayed blue and I didn’t know at the time - but I got the baby girl I dreamed of maybe it was just down to luck or the one attempt we had. It’s so tough knowing what to do but I’m trying not to get too stressed on the diet - I’ve cut out meat and eggs and bananas and I hate anything potato anyway so don’t eat them or crisps or chips. I’m praying for you hun. I’m doing my 60mins plus cardio 4-6 times a week been doing that for three weeks now want to continue it for 6 weeks or more before ttc really x

Please tell me everything YOU think the LE Diet entails. Many times when people are having a hard time it's because they've got a misconception about what the LE Diet really even is.

What I did with my sway (and i had 4 kids and a full time job, I totally understand!) was make a normal dinner for my family and then I had the side, veg, or salad and they had that + meat. It didnt' take me any more time to cook, I didn't need to make any different meals or anything. Or, you can try just going vegetarian without counting cals or anything, that's helped some people too.

I just want to clarify something about bananas and potatoes. There is nothing inherently blue friendly about bananas or potatoes. The only reason that they were ever said to sway blue is due to potassium. On the old school mineral diets, they are having tons of dairy foods that have tons and tons of potassium, and the only way they can both have lots of dairy while limiting potassium is by cutting out other foods that have potassium in them.

This does NOT mean that those foods sway blue!!

On LE Diet, we are not doing the tons of dairy and in many cases, people actually have a hard time getting enough potassium. The potassium requirements on LE are the same as the mineral diet since that's the minimum u need for your body to function (2500-3500 mg). So you very well may NEED to include potassium-rich foods on LE Diet to get enough potassium for your health and well being. NO ONE should both be on LE Diet and actively avoid potassium foods.

My daughter is like 30% potato, ate them constantly when I was swaying.
