Hi all
I was hoping someone may have some advice for me. I am on CD7 on my first full cycle after my MC in December. I can’t remember where I read it but I believe there’s evidence to suggest that the first cycle after MC sways girl, because there’s more progesterone in the body from previous pregnancy, and the following cycle (the one I’m on now) May also increase chances of a girl. That all sounds positive but I’m charting my bbt and my temps are lower (average 35.9c/96.62F) where they’re usually 36.3c/97.34F, incidentally were on the cycle I conceived my son. I would love to hear your thoughts! I’m really keen to get pregnant again ASAP but trying to balance my chances with falling pregnant with a girl.
Other things I’m doing-
LE diet/fasting 8pm-12pm (2 weeks ish)
Aerobic exercise
We plan to do one attempt when OPK+ with FR for dh
We had been taking supplements (recommended by IG) but now quite configured about safety of these
Considering rephresh too
If anyone has any recommendations, that would be so helpful! ❤️

I’ve done some reading today and I’m wondering what thoughts are on Saw Palmetto and it’s safety to raise progesterone this cycle.
Interestingly after miscarriage my pre O temps were higher 36.5 (guess that’s residual progesterone from Corpus lutiem), and probably why more girls are conceived after MC.
Thanks all

There is NO evidence that progesterone sways pink (in fact the opposite, according to our experiences here where several people with low progesterone have girls and many of us with all boys like myself have NEVER had low progesterone in our entire lives) and the "evidence" about temps and gender conceived is super sketchy and pretty much useless. I've seen plenty.
I never have anyone wait for that reason.
What supplements are you guys taking!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I have found saw palmetto does not work for swaying and can make it take longer for your ovulation to come back after a loss (and BTW I'm sorry for your loss) I would stay well away from it if I was you.
Again, progesterone swaying pink has not at all been our experience here on this site and there is ZERO evidence supporting it. It was one guy's theory, to suport timing which has been totally debunked, and he never did any actual studies on it at all. He went through and picked out some other studies which supposedly supported his theory but it did not prove anything at all as none of the studies were designed to prove anything.
It is very very common for temps to be elevated after a miscarriage. I have seen NO strong trend with the temps.
Follow your gut, but just know that it's entirely possible you're skipping a pink friendly month in favor of more blue friendly ones in future. We just can't know.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks Atomic.
It’s so tricky knowing where to weight most importance.
This cycle I’m taking-
Calcium 1200
Magnesium 300
Folic acid 800
And DH
Calcium & Magnesium
I was taking others (zinc, vitamin b12, C, E, cranberry and aspirin) for a few days but stopped after finding this website.
I’ve read a few posts about greater chance of a girl after MC for the first ovulation and possibly second (which mine will be). Is that just a phenomenon you’ve noticed on here or is there any studies you’ve seen?
I’m finding it really hard to keep calm, which I know isn’t ideal for a girl. Hoping if I can make a decision about what to do this cycle I’ll be able to relax a bit.
Thanks for your help again

I forgot to say (although you guys don’t place much on pH) DH pH is 9.5! And mine on CD 8 is 5.5. Do you think I should try and lower our phs before trying?

Yep. We can't know and so we have to just pick our method and go with it, hoping for the best.
Ok. None of those supplements should delay or stop ovulation.
It's a combination of observation coupled with biological observations. Since we have repeatedly seen the natural birth control mechanisms of the body swaying pink, we assume that whenever those are coming into play (such as after a loss) that they likely sway pink, although we don't have the data to prove that yet.
Studies are really not terribly helpful on stuff like this because miscarriages happen for reasons, and it's likely the reasons losses happen affect gender outcome just as much if not more so as a loss does. Not really very helpful as we might like.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
