My NIPT blood draw is tomorrow morning and then I think results take 5-10 days business days. Going to feel like an eternity waiting but it will be here soon. Any suggestions on preparing yourself for disappointment? I would rather prepare to hear boy and be surprised if I am wrong, then hold onto hope it is a girl and be devastated if it is boy. When talking to husband, I call baby boy already, probably as a protective measure to start mentally accepting it. So glad to have you ladies on the journey.

Girliecat tomorrow!! wow thats come round quickly i have everything crossed for you!! but i think you are right to expect a boy until you get those results, even spend the next 5-10 days as if baby is a confirmed boy, think boy names, life with 1 of each etc.. if baby is a girl amazing!!
but if not then you have already started preparing for that in a way and hopefully it would take the edge off the initial shock if that makes sense? it wont take away GD but it could make the initial reveal less jarring than if you'd been daydreaming girl names, girl clothes, life with 2 girls etc xx

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday, and there is one baby in there! Measuring right at 6w1d. There was a strong heartbeat, hr 133. The tech did say I ovulated from my left and now I’m freaking out because I read on some chat that left means girl and right means boy. Now with the higher hcg I’m feeling kinda defeated. Ugh! Someone take my phone!

It makes no difference which side you ovulate from. Scientifically that just doesn’t hold any weight- gender isn’t determined till the sperm implants so it would make no difference where the egg comes from. I have a friend with only one ovary and she had two boys and one girl. Glad baby is measuring perfect. Don’t read into things too much. For everything you read that says a particular sign is one gender you can find an opposing opinion or example. Are you getting early bloodwork to know?
