Hello, im new here and mostly just reading a lot. We will be TTC girl soon and ive started with the folic acid a few weeks ago. I believe its 400 microgram. But its got some Vitamine D added. Ive heard now that vit D sways blue... should i be taking another kind of folic acid instead?
Really hope someone can answer me. Thanks!

Yes I would prefer you take just folic acid without added Vit. D if at all possible!

Oh and take that higher amount all thru first trimeter of pregnancy and then and only then, gradually wean off by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then drop them.

Thank you so much.
I dont know if i have the MTHFR mutation. Would it be safer to just go with folate?
I took folic acid with my first pregnancy ( smaller amount though) and i dont think i had any problems.
Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure

Folate is better if you can afford it. Some people even with the MTHFR seem to get through a pregnancy or even two perfectly fine before they start having issues from the folic acid. If you can get folate, it's better.
