Sorry I don´t belong on this thread but just had to say that that is the most ridiculous thing ever! She is looking inside your body and with you present and then she won´t tell you what she is seeing?? That is just incredible. Even if she´s not allowed, come on, a little bit of sensitivity and empathy..sorry about that mocha.

I know, Indira - it's so frustrating! Last week when I was there literally hours after my m/c, they were so insensitive. The tech never even once acknowledged the emotional pain I was in with an 'I'm sorry' or anything - she just chastised me for not having a full bladder (well, excuse me but 1/2 hour before the appt I was on the toilet passing a baseball-sized clot, so keeping my bladder full was the last thing on my mind)! I miss the days of my twin pregnancy, when I had weekly u/s in the hospital, and they had two monitors - one facing the tech and one facing the patient so I could watch the whole thing. At the clinic I go to here they don't even let you see the screen until the very end of your appointment (for pregnancy u/s - there was no need for me to see the screen today, of course).

Z- I think with the time difference it'll be 10:15pm there when I post...I'm going to come on right away and let everyone know!! Eeeekkk!!!!
AND OMG!!!! That would be so frickin awesome if you got in, in 2 weeks!!!!! You'll be 16w...same time that B saw her little girl so hopefully everything is obvious!!! I'm just so excited for you!!! Oh and I keep getting weird, nauseous moments as well. It's not very nice. Once it was gone with the boys....it was gone. Never to return. This entire pregnancy has been so different from the start. FX'd it's a girlie sign!!!
Thank you MochaI hope it goes away soon for you too. It's so annoying....
I am seriously peeved for you right now. The description of your u/s experience while you were miscarrying is just horrific. I can't imagine being treated like that. I am so sorry that you had to put up with that heartless b!tch. What a joke our system is. Where are the care providers with compassion??? I know she's not technically a care provider but she works with mama's on a daily basis and surely sees many babies without heartbeats or threatened m/c's on a regular basis. She should change her job. I hope you get some good news on Friday(((HUGS))) Lots of Love~~~~~and healthy thoughts~~~coming your way. xoxo
What are you talkin about!!! Of course you belong on this thread!!!! Did I congratulate you??? I'm so sorry if I haven't! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! PLease join us! This is just a chat thread for all of us preggos!!!! xoCrunchy Mama to 3 rambunctious boys~'06 :bike: '08

Mocha- This is what I've found so far....This is taken from my herbal book for childbearing women- By Susan Weed(a well known herbalist).
So, for fertility:
Nettle leaf and Red Raspberry leaf are 2 great herbs to take. Nettle is a uterine tonic and nourisher-it strengthens kidneys and adrenals which really helps balance your hormonal system. I take these 2 herbs(tea form) from about 20w on in pregnancy. They are fantastic at toning the uterus in pregnancy as well as increasing vit K(which helps a ton with PP bleeding after birth and having Vit K in your breastmilk for baby). One or more cups a day.
Red Rasp. tea is also a uterine tonic and has some calcium in it to aid in fertility.
Red Clover leaves are probably the most useful herb for fertility but may be harder to find. The have more minerals than the other 2 herbs, but it's better at getting the uterus ready for a baby and restoring hormones.
Cal/Mag-They are thought to be the 2 most important minerals affecting a woman's ability to conceive and maintain a pregnancy.
Vit E- 500iu is said to have a dramatic effect on the reproductive system of both men and women.
I also have a fantastic m/c brew that Susan uses(stops m/c). It has been used by hundreds of women and is said to be extremely useful for stopping m/c's that are not associated with chromosomal defects. If anyone wants it I'll type it out for you
Let me know if you need any more info on the above herbs. xoxo JulieCrunchy Mama to 3 rambunctious boys~'06 :bike: '08

Thanks DM - I'll look into all those herbs. I'm drinking 2 cups of raspberry leaf tea a day, and it not only helped my bleeding stop, but it's helping my cough a bit! If I decide to drink nettle leaf tea too should I drink 2 cups of that in addition to the two cups of raspberry leaf tea?
The cal/mag thing worries me - obviously I'm getting very little calcium on the LE diet...should I drop that part of the sway and start taking cal/mag again? At least if I took my cal/mag in pill form I could avoid the increase in protein an increase in dairy products would mean.

HI all had lots to catch up and baby brain has made me forget half of it already!! lol Had a terrible tummy bug the past 2 days, running to the loo and vomiting....ended up at doc's for anti-sickness tabs as I couldn't bare it anymore, called the doc who insisted I go in (that was fun) and get my BP checked. He said I looked 'green' but Bp was ok and gave me electrolyte re-balance drinks! YUCK!! Feeling better today thankfully as I was due to have Root canal treatment at 1pm and have waited 2mths for the appt. Better tonight thankfully! although every muscle aches from all thw wretching and vomiting.... I thought my MS was bad!!! It was so bad I missed ds1's lazer quest birthday party!
Luckily his actual b'day was sat, so we had a good day then and a meal (so doc wondered if food poisoning). So poor Dh and my mum had a troop of boys to look after!! x
DM, I WILL be up as late as I have to be to hear ur girly news!!!!! FX
Mocha, so sorry to hear about the US tech, how insenstive! Betcha she's not a mother!! Hope ur ok? x
Hello to everyone else...baby brain and the tail end of this bug fuzzing my mind... xx

OK...so I just took a look in the appendix at the back of the book. They give you herbal sources for all the minerals and vits you need. The one that stands out(and I have used it throughout pregnancy 2x now) is Alfalfa. Alfalfa has lots of calcium, magnesium and Vit E as well as many other great things in it(Vit B12, Vit C, Vit K and Iron). If it were me and I was scared of adding food sources...I would add this before a Cal/Mag supplement. You'll be able to absorb it WAY better. It comes in tea form but I prefer the alfalfa tablets. Cheap and easy to find in your health food store. Go for organic if you can. I was told by my herbalist to start slowly. Take 1 per meal, 3x a day and then up it to 2 a day about 2 weeks after starting. I take it throughout pregnancy and by the time 35w hits I'm taking about 9 tablets a day. I don't take prenatals very often and I find that alfalfa does a great job along with my Flouradix, Vit D and Cod Liver Oil. Let me know if you need more info. I have a fantastic article on Alfalfa written by a herbalist/midwife in Ohio
xoxo
ETA- The alfalfa will also really help with the recent blood loss as well(HUGS)as the iron is easily absorbed.Last edited by DoulaMama; November 22nd, 2011 at 04:24 PM.
