    OPK question

Dear atomic, I have been on the diet since the first week of April and lost 12 pounds (which is a lot for me) and managed to hold steady on the new weight (56kg now, 62kg at the start) . I also did exercise for about 6 days every week (only this week I did less because we are on vacation).

Started Pcos LE diet and I am now doing a mix of Pcos LE and normal LE (something sweet like three biscuits every day and jam on my bread but still no soda, no white bread, no white rice).

No snacks and pushing back breakfast was really hard and did not always work, but I gave it my best

What didn't went well: didn't get Femara or Clomifen. But my gyn offered to monitor me if I buy it online without prescription (not to determine day of O but an US once to count numbers of follicles) . Due to the pandemic the medication did not arrive on time. Maybe next month but the pharmacy could give us no expected date

And I didn't practice with OPKs or read a lot about it here. Just didn't have the energy but should have done it.

My cycles changed MUCH since the diet. From about 50 (sometimes 70) days to three 31 day cycles in a row. Never had that. And from lots of ewcm to just a tiny bit. My skin cleared which is amazing. I had very bad outbreaks all my aduld life. I guess this is due to nearly no snacking and less sugar.

We had our one attempt several days ago on CD 15. Had a tiny bit of ewcm then and a OPK which was nearly positive and stayed nearly positive till about CD 17. Did Jump and dump. I don't think it worked.

When should I test with OPKs? Mornings? Afternoons? Once a day or several times? I used cheapies (one step) but I never practiced. Do you recommend a brand?

Also if Clomifen doesn't arrive til next cycle, should we postpone our next attempt? On the other hand I am doing well with exercise and diet, maybe we shouldnt skip next month.

I guess I should have prepared better. But my mental energy was (and sometimes still is) low after a HT miscarriage so I didn't feel able to read much. Still mourning the loss but getting better. At least for diet and exercise I found strength, actually it was nice. It gave me something to focus on and I look gread this summer, muha

Thank you so much in advance!!

You need to test after lunch. That is the time when the hormone is at the highest level in your urine. If you feel like you're getting close, you can try testing after lunch and before dinner to give you a little more level of information about what is going on.

I don't recommend brands but I know many have used Wondfo and Babi brand OPK successfully.

Whether or not to wait is at your discretion - I would use your judgement about how this will affect your family's needs, and if you're over 40 you may want to proceed with more urgency. But as a general rule if Clomid is on the horizon I will often have people wait for it if possible.

That is great news about the shorter cycles!!
