Hi Atomic!
I have been swaying girl for a few months, timing my one attempt at OPK but I notice my LH surge usually lasts about 3 days before OPK is negative again. Do I continue my one attempt the first day of positive OPK?
With all 3 of my boys I had multiple attempts in the fertile window, so I just want to make sure my timing is the best for conception with only one attempt!

OPK and one attempt timing

You can't tell when you ovulate based on how many days of pos OPK you get. You can have ovulated and still get a positive test for days after, or you can have your test go negative and still have yet to O.
We have a choice that depends on what YOU want. if you want to keep going with one attempt yes you can try moving it up a day and see what happens (so have attempt second day of peak) OR we can just go straight to e4d. What do you prefer?!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

oh ok that makes sense. I'm worried my chances of conception will go down with e4d vs. one attempt at +OPK so I think I will just continue with one attempt at +OPK for at least the next few months. I know it will take longer to conceive with one attempt (vs. multiple like I felt I had to with all 3 of my boys!) but I just want to make sure that attempt is on the best day possible! Thanks Atomic! =)

People always worry about that, but the e4d is actually BETTER for conception. We sometimes outsmart ourselves by the one attempt at pos OPK, like for instance we might have better results the day before or the day after that (either individually or in any given month) and so with the one at pos OPK we might inadvertently be having an attempt month after month on a day that isn't ideal for us. The e4d takes the decision out of our hands and introduces an element of randomness that can pay off by actually INCREASING our chances of conception.
And that's entirely aside from diminishing the chances we might miss the attempt due to early or late ovulation.
E4d is NOT multiple attempts. Data shows that it's next to impossible to conceive from anything 4 or more days before O, and even O-3 is quite slim. So no matter what with e4d you're always going to be in with one attempt. Even in the worst case, O-3 and O Day, if there's anything left from the O-3 attempt, it will have already fertilized the egg before the O Day shot has a chance to capacitate, and if not, the O Day attempt will have its chance. Still one attempt no matter what.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
