Yesterday I had what I suspected might be implantation bleeding at 5dpo, but I had more spotting today, and now I'm starting to think all this spotting (I spotted through O, then at 3dpo, and in the evening of 5dpo/morning of 6dpo) just means my m/c isn't complete yet. The only positive sign today was that my temp was slightly up. Here's my chart:

Thanks Mochagirl!
Have you had your HCG levels checked? Did they do an u/s follow up? And I'm sorry - I can't remember - did you have D&C or did you m/c naturally? I ask because the cycle after my D&C I spotted throughout my LP. I had no retained products of conception as they did both blood and an u/s to confirm.Last edited by Kitten; December 7th, 2011 at 12:22 PM.

Mine was a natural missed m/c at 11 weeks.
I last had my HCG checked just over 2 weeks ago, and it was at 12. I was still getting the faintest hint of a shadow on a FRER as of O--day, but it was so dim and only visible in certain light and particular angles so I'm hoping that meant HCG was well below the published FRER threshold of 10. I've had BFNs with FRERs yesterday and today with FMU (yes, I wasted 2 FRERs because I'm so paranoid that the m/c is still going on).
I did have an u/s one week after my m/c (so just over 2 weeks ago), and they found a 2.4" piece of tissue still there. The consensus was that I'd probably shed it on my own and I've bled a lot since then, so I'm hoping it's gone now.
Did you TTC your first cycle? How long after your m/c did af return?

Sounds like your levels are at 0. Maybe if you are concerned, go back to the doc and request another u/s and blood just to make sure.
We didn't TTC our first cycle. We actually waited 6 months as my HB wasn't really yet. My first cycle after the D&C was 40 days. I usually have a 26-27 day cycle.2004,

My doctor offered me another u/s, but I couldn't face the prospect of going back to that place full of happy pregnant women until I'm pregnant again too. I went the day of my m/c then again a week later, and that was more than enough. I would have liked another blood test, but for some reason my doctor didn't offer me that.
Wow - you waited a long time before TTC. If you don't mind me asking, how far along were you?

Mochagirl - we were 13.5 weeks when we lost our sweet baby boy. I don't know if I posted here about it or not, but it was chromosomal - trisomy 18 - which was incompatible with life. We actually didn't miscarry, but interrupted the much wanted pg as the docs told us at 18-20 weeks babies start feeling pain and we wanted to spare our little guy any suffering that he would have absolutely had. Never in my life did I imagine that I would be in that situation and have to make a decision like we had to. There was no "right" decision - either way had the same ending. I posted about it on IG at the time. So you can see why it took so long for my HB to decide to TTC again. We are both absolutely terrified of something similar happening again but the genetic counselor told me that it's just my regular age related risk - no higher. Also why we are no longer swaying as when it came down to it, I would have given anything to take home my sweet baby boy. At least we were able to get hand/foot prints and his ashes are with me in my office at home. I plan on putting him with my mom (she passed 5 years ago), but I just haven't been able to let him go yet.
Is there no u/s place that you can go to that is just for routine u/s and don't specialize in maternity? The one in my doctor's office is like that - I don't think they do any pg u/s at all. Maybe you could ask him for a blood test? I can't imagine he would say no.
Thanks so much Indigoviolet!2004,

I'm so sorry, kitten - that much have been so tough.
I was under the care of a midwife when I had my m/c. She transferred my care to my family doctor after the m/c, and he has no obstectric training, so all the decisions we're making about my care are basically due to my own research and his brief phonecalls with a gyno consult. I'm sure if I went to the trouble of making an appointment to see him again and finding a babysitter for my kids so I could go, I could get another requisition for bloodwork, but 3 weeks post-m/c with only minor, sporadic spotting isn't atypical I think. If af doesn't come in another week or so, I might try to follow up with blood work, but for now I think I'm probably on track for a full recovery. My midwife didn't even think I needed aftercare after such an uncomplicated m/c - she thought I was crazy when I decided to keep my appointment for the emergency u/s she'd scheduled when my bleeding first started (it ended up being the morning after my m/c). The only reason I'm so frustrated is because the spotting makes my 2WW even more stressful than usual - I'm just impatient, that's all.

Thanks Mocha - it was by far the most difficult decision we have had to make and go through.
Aren't we all impatient!! I hope that if this cycle isn't it for you, that next cycle is smooth and results in a BFP!2004,
