That does make sense and I definitely know I should have told him. I'm just having now of those moments where I wish he showed me he was proud of me without me having to tell him to. A couple weeks ago he tied for 1st place in a golf tournament and gave all his winnings to the charity that sponsored the event and I told everyone who would listen and I was just kind of hoping for a little of the same (although I know it's a little silly).

At what point can you consider spotting af? I'm getting such mixed signals right now and I don't know whether yesterday was CD1 or whether I'm still in the 2WW. As you all know, I've had spotting pretty much through my whole LP - the spotting's always been brown, appears in the morning, and is gone by afternoon. Yesterday I had my normal brown spotting in the morning, then it stopped to be replaced by bright red spotting in the afternoon. There was even a small gush that soaked my liner. It continued red into the evening, then tapered back to brown, and only when I wiped. My cramps were TERRIBLE all day. This morning I woke up to nothing on my pad but very scant brown spotting when I checked my cervix. Then, about an hour later another small gush of bright red - it feels like enough that I need to wear a normal pad. I'm on CD26, which is on the early side for af for me, though not unprecedented.
Here's the weird part - I was hoping my temp would go down today to signal that af had started, but it went UP. Now, it was a strange night where I woke up to pee at 5 thinking it was something more like 2 (otherwise I would have taken my temp then) and ended up waking for the day 45 minutes later and took my temp. Do you think that quick jaunt to the bathroom 45 minutes was enough to raise my temp?

If this is af, would I consider yesterday or today CD1? As I said, the red blood yesterday tapered off and turned brown before becoming red again this morning.

Jamie, vent away! That’s what this thread is for…basically everything! Personally, I’d be ticked too, even if I hadn’t just passed my CPA exam! That’s quite an accomplishment on your part! When you’re feeling like you can have a good conversation w/DH, let him know how you feel. I hope he’ll understand.
Sometimes guys can be kind of, ummm, let’s just say “thick”. They can’t pick up on the nonverbal (and sometimes verbal) signs we’re giving. My DH leaves at 06:30 and is gone until 7 or later most days. It’s tough and some days, I am just ready to either explode or fall asleep on the couch b/c my days are so exhausting. His days are beyond exhausting too, though. Neither of us get much alone time.

Mocha - for "normal" cycles you need to ask yourself: do you need to use a towel or liner? If you don't, it's just spotting... BUT saying that, if you had retained tissue it might not be AF either, it could be the retained tissue breaking down or coming out. When my AF returned it was definitely heavier and redder than the spotting had been, but was still quite light flow compared to my normal AFs.
you're right that your temp being higher indicates it's not AF, but it is possible to get AF whilst temps are still high above coverline
unfortunately with this being your first cycle it might be nothing like any of your other cycles ever have been and the next few might be very different too.
