I would limit chickpeas quite a bit because they have a lot of sodium and protein.
Peppers, I think are fine to eat regularly (like 1 a day) even tho they do have a pretty fair amount of nutrients.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I think the sodium levels in the dry chickpeas aren't that high at all. I'm lazy and buy "no sodium added" tins of them and they only have 10mg per 1/2 cup. You should be okay there!!!

For sodium, it's the way they've been prepared. If you can find no sodium added, that's great.
The real prob is that they are LOADED with protein, 6 g protein per 1/2 cup. I think they're ok but not something to eat vast quantities of every day.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Sorry to bump this super old thread.
Would Chickpeas be okay for Vegan swayers?

Yes, this thread is 5 years old. Please guys don't take anything before 2012 or 2013 seriously, bump the post and reask because at that point most people were still wanting to blend the diets together and if I'd told them to eat sodium or anything "alkalinizing" they'd have rebelled against it.
Now I have the data to back myself up and say, no, seriously, you can eat sodium and "alkalinizing" foods and we have the results to prove it, and I no longer have to cater my replies to the old-school diet advice.
As long as you stick in limits for the day, all foods are fine. Chickpeas are fine. Peppers are fine. Everything is ok as long as you stick in limits for the day, and yesyesyes chickpeas are GREAT for vegan swayers (both pink and blue actually as we do have some vegan blue swayers as well). The limits are what matter. There are no magic foods.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thank you Atomic !
Hubbie was like "We can't not eat chickpeas!" it's his fave food lol
Hoping that as we're both vegan now it will help my sway, he's been vegan for ages.

Being vegan really does sway pink. I have quite a few blue swayers who are vegans and I can count on one hand the number of vegan pink swayers I have (and virtually all of them were NOT vegans when they got their boys)
