I'm so sorry the other pill didn't work out! I can't take hormonal BC either. I seriously think BC pills made me have social anxiety disorder in college.
Yes, spironolactone will def. sway pink by lowering testosterone and other androgens.
Be aware that it can really raise levels of blood potassium to potentially dangerous levels (I do not believe potassium sways at all whatsoever) but if that is a huge concern for you, just letting you know. Ask your midwife if she thinks you should follow a lower potassium diet for your health (LE Diet can be an option!!) and be sure that any supps you are taking (even one a day vitamiins) do not contain any potassium.!!! with testing the potassium.
Hormones rise slow and drop slow, so if you were off it for a month before TTC that's ok, your levels will still be lower than they were otherwise. And if you follow an LE Diet, your body won't have the raw materials to churn out the hormones very quick anyway so they would stay lower longer than if you were eating 6 eggs for breakfast.!!! Their mechanisms of action are different, though SP's MOA is not fully known.
I know that drugs work differently can still interact with each other, but if you try it together, just be super careful. Pay attention to your body as closely as possible. Experimenting with hormones is always somewhat risky.03
