Even Dr Shettles believed that frequent BD swayed pink, but for it to be frequent it has to be every day for 7-10 days. What Jen has done is ideal for frequent imo - her DH started releasing on cd1 then they started DTD when AF was over, so sperm count would have been lowered before she even got to her fertile time.
in the compressed frequent release study you found they DID actually test total semen amount, sperm count within it (total quantity), and sperm concentration in the semen, and noted it was a drastic reduction for all of those.

Yes I agree that frequent reduces sperm count and that that study confirms that - I'm just saying that how much fluid there is alone isn't an indicator of this and it certainly shouldn't be of concern if there is very little fluid because it doesn't mean there isn't enough sperm to get pregnant!

    Thanks Zan...could to know.
DH just said there was just a sputter,,,sorry if TMI.
We have dtd cd 9, 10, 11 and 12. I am cd 13 and cbfm is still low!
I want to take a break as I am afraid of raising ph but I do want to get pregnant so I wonder how much will it raise my ph?

Rainbow,...what day do you think you will o? How many bds will you get in?
I read a study yesterday and frequent bd with consecutive days up to o swayed girl! Of course, most attempts were frequent bding.....as people want to get pregnant.
Poor DH had some um, problems with muscle pain down there last night....too many releases maybe!
All for a low on the monitor....ugh!

I read that illness can delay or suppress ovulation. I am worried about the latter problem.....I wanted to get pregnant before 2012!

    Is Jen ootb?
DH could not understand why 7 days equals lowering sperm count. Do you know why? I have no idea!
Also, how does compressed fr do the same thing? In the end, I guess you are lowering sperm count due to the pure number of releases. So far we are 5 days of fr and that is not common for dh. One day was 3 times! So, I think it is being lowered...I just need to ovulate!

Oh, just read the last post by rainbowflower....is it wise to fr everyday???
I don't want to lose all the spermies!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

I would so DTD a lot if my husband could handle it....I'm the one who always haggles my husband about getting some, and he usually says he's "tired" or "isn't interested"....he used to be a lot more into sex, so I'm hoping that because his sex drive has been in the dumps for a while, that will sway pink some, if he just doesn't have the "urge"...hoping that means low testerone.

So if he could have let me and I knew I could rely on him, I'd so do the frequent BDing or method Jen is employing, since our boys were one shot pull out wonders....

But being that he is how he is, I will be lucky to get two attempts within my O window, LOL

    Hi auroara,
I am cd 13....still no o showing up
we dtd cd 9, 10, 11 in am and he released that night, and 12...
Part of it is bc my temps went up and stayed up so we thought I was oing...but no postive opk so probably just bc I was sick.
I think we need a break until I see some sign of oing!

Will you wait for positive opk???

YUP! Soooo excited to have my body back to normal again! Now, I must admit that I DID find a teeny, tiny bit of red streaking in a blob of ewcm (the only bit of ewcm I've seen so far) last night, but it was never enough to make it to the toilet paper or my underpants, so I'm hoping it was just some irritation from my obsessive cervix checking .

So...I'm on CD9 or 10 today, depending on what day I consider to be CD1. Today my cm is creamy/sticky, and my cervix isn't feeling very open or soft yet, so I think I'm still a few days away from O. We still haven't dtd, but I did stick some rephresh in a couple of days ago just for the heck of it, and in case we decided to start dtd early before dh had a chance to lower his sperm count. It'll probably be the only rephresh I use this cycle, but I reserve the right to change my mind several more times . DH has now released 5 nights in a row. I'll have him release again tonight, then I *might* have him release once during the day tomorrow then start dtd for real tomorrow night...or if I can be patient I'll wait one extra day to start dtd so we can get to the magic number of 7 for fr. Once we start dtd, we'll do it daily until my temp rises, indicating O. I'm still PRAYING that happens before we leave for our trip on Thursday.

On the many cycles I've logged on FF over the years, the earliest I've ever gotten O is CD13, which would be Thursday (or Wednesday if I am, in fact, CD10 today), but in both of the last two cycles I conceived, I O'd on CD16, which would bring me to the 24th-25th, which will mean no diet and difficulty dtd since we'll have been at my in-laws for a few days by then. Send me some early O vibes, ladies - I need them!!

really hope you O early!! We're going to Mom's house on Christmas Day but will be here that evening...I plan to frisk my husband on the night of the 23rd and 24th for my O on the 25th! I will be tracking O with OPKs to make sure it's still going to happen as scheduled!

So I might end up DTDing the night before my first pos OPK but that'll be OK.

Almost got all my shopping done, except my hubby wants an expensive NFL jeresy and I"m not really interested in shelling out 80 bucks for it but that's all he wants so ....SIGH! LOL!

My oldest son found some of his stocking stuffers today and cried and cried until I gave it to him It was just a dinosaur painting book and spongebob stickers.....at least it wasn't something important and big he found, because if he found one of his big presents I'd make him wait until Christmas anyway!

If I comes on the 22nd, the day we leave for our trip, I'll just leave it at that since we'll have dtd every night for at least 2-3 nights before that. If it doesn't come that day, though, we'll have to keep trying to sneak in attempts. I think our only choice will be the basement laundry room/bathroom that is outside the bedroom we'll be sleeping in with all the kids. Not exactly romantic, but really what about TTC is romantic anyway

I'm going to do the best I can with the diet while eating MIL's food. I can easily skip breakfast - most days at least (there might be a Christmas brunch I won't be able to avoid). I'll do the best I can at lunch since it's usually a serve yourself kind of deal. I'm packing some microwaveable packets of plain rice I might be able to eat some days if I can get the kitchen to myself long enough to make them without suspicion, but other days I'll have to make do with maybe a piece of regular bread with jam or something like that (they usually have sandwich stuff at lunch). Supper's where it will all fall apart, since I'll have to eat whatever the family meal is. On Christmas Day I intend to eat everything on offer but just keep my portions very low. Hopefully I'll be in the 2WW by then.

So about the positive OPK question I'm actually unsure. I have the little cheapie OPK strips (I get from target) that I use every cycle but this cycle I also decided to get the clear blue ovulation test the one with the smiley face not the fertility monitor. So I took an OPK this morning looked negative but getting darker and then I took one this afternoon (a few minutes ago) it still looked about the same as this morning but the dye looked like it ran a little funny so I dipped the clear blue in there as well, because my plan was to start using the clear blue when the cheap OPKs starting getting a little darker, well the clear blue came up with a smiley face so I guess that means I should be Oing soon but I'm a little confused because usually the cheap ones work great so I can't figure out why they don't look positive at all.
