And what veggie burger did you get? I'd worry there would be too much sodium in them. That's why I've not even looked at them!
The ones I got were Sol Cuisine Original Burger (I'm in Canada, so I doubt you have them there), they have about 250mg of sodium per patty, and the buns I had were 110mg of sodium, so it was completely doable as long as I don't eat much sodium the rest of the day.

For the fries all I did was peel a sweet potato, cut them into wedges, and bake them for maybe 20 minutes at around 400. Easy peasy. They didn't look beautiful, but they were nice and soft and tasty.

So, yesterday was a little tricky because we were at a Christmas luncheon at dh's aunt's house out of town. First of all, they didn't serve lunch until 3pm, which almost killed me. I was already starting to feel weak around 1:00, so when they offered me a drink I accepted a full sugar gingerale. It helped get my blood sugar up and keep me going until they served the very late lunch.

    7am: coffee
    1pm: gingerale
3pm: tiny serving of cheesy baked pasta (maybe 6 pieces), pasta with tomato sauce (I didn't realise until after I served myself that there was meat in it, but I avoided all chunks and really only ate maybe 6 pieces anyway), Caesar salad (high in fat, I know, but the only vegetable option available). 2 tiny shortbread cookies, 1 small gingerbread man, 1 1-inch square nanaimo bar.
7:30pm: 1 1/2 cups rice with zucchini, mushrooms, creme fraiche, parmesan and a squirt of lime juice, 2 Peek Freans Lifestyles cookies
9pm: (I know it was too soon after supper to snack, but I'm used to eating supper a lot earlier, and old habits die hard) pineapple, Mike & Ikes

So I think I did ok even though I couldn't control what I ate for lunch. When I plugged everything into FitDay I was surprised to see my sodium actually seemed to be within limits - that was what I thought I had cheated on the most. Protein and Calories came out well within limits as well.

This is all just a preview of what's to come next week when I'm at my in-laws' house all week...except it will be worse because the meals won't be buffets where I can pick and choose the best options. My only potential saving grace is that one of the other guests - my BIL's girlfriend - is vegetarian. She'll only be there a few days while we're there, but I'm hoping that on those days, at least, there'll be more vegetarian-friendly food available. On the other days I may have no choice but to eat roast beef, meaty lasagna, and whatever else she serves. Hopefully O will come by then!

Hey everyone, Im not going to write what Ive been eating as dont want to give you all cravings!!

If Im not pregnant this cycle (dont think I am) then we are postponing ttc till March for a few reasons really. DS1 starts school in September so dont want to change things too much around then, the bigger the gap the better really, and also I think March sways well and Id like to enjoy my food over Chrsitmas and start the LE diet in January.
Ive spoken to Rainbowflower about my PCOS before andshe gave me some good links to PCOS so Im going to see my fertility specialist first the end of Feb. who can assess my luteal phase, hormone levels etc. so should be ready to ttc from March.

So Ill be putting on 10 pounds that I lost over Christmas ha ha!

Does anyone use wholegrain foods? I think for me I need to keep sugar levels low by skipping brekkie, but also need to stop then suddenly going high by eating wholegrain foods. I know it slightly adds some nutrition and Ill be sad not to eat the cakes and sweets! But got to be done.

But for now, Im enjoying my boy food yum yum!

Hiya, hope I arrives by then, this happenned to me on holiday, was buffet food and hoped O was done but it caught me out and came 2 days after eating meat and fry ups! Thats this cycle but dont think I am pregnant or Im sure it would be a boy again.
If youve been doing the diet a while Im sure its the over all diet that counts.

Every once in a while I have some wholegrains. Those extremely low sodium hamburger buns I had the other day were whole grain - but they were so tiny that I figured it was worth it for the 100mg of sodium they had, as opposed to the 200+mg that all the white buns I found had. Once in a blue moon I also eat the whole wheat pasta I make for my kids instead of the regular pasta I cook for myself - mainly because I don't feel like having to have two pots boiling at once. I'd say maybe I have whole grains about 2-3 times a week all told.

Anyway, enjoy your food for the next month, chocolate! You are very patient (and probably wise) to take some time off TTC if you don't get your BFP this cycle...I wish I had your patience, but we've been TTC since last May (although I was pregnant for a few months in there), and I want to be pregnant RIGHT NOW!

Yep Im trying to be patient! Especially when I google PCOS it throws up all sorts of issues but Im trying not to think about that too much right now, was going to do the LE diet this week but just couldnt be bothered to do a special food shop, and to be honest I probably need to gain a few pounds so I have enough left to loose.

Hope this month is your bfp month, will deserve it after doing all this over Christmas!

I had the bright idea to walk my son (he's two next month so he's an excellent walker who loves to go for walks) to the park so he could play since the sun was out. Bad idea! Ice everywhere. He slipped twice (he was holding my hand so he didn't hurt himself.) Just as I saw sight of the EMPTY playground, I turned around and he became hysterically upset. So I decided to walk to the local coffee shop to get him an orange juice. I decided to just get lunch while I was there. I had a rocket and baby leaf salad with balsamic vinaigrette, tomato slices, and slices of fresh mozzarella... with some pita bread. Probably took a chunk of my allowance of the day (I put it in myfitnesspal and I do still have plenty, maybe except in the fat/protein department where I just have "enough" room left).

After eating, though, I have a headache, I feel lightheaded/dizzy. I bet it's my iron levels. I bet they're low. Not sure what to do about that...

When I was worried about my iron right after my m/c, atomic suggested I have spinach salad with some white beans and a chopped egg every day. Honestly, I only did that one day because it ended up taking my protein too high, but after that I had spinach salad with either 1/4 cup beans or a little egg for a few days. Now, whenever I feel my iron getting low, I just add spinach to lunch or supper or both (I have some frozen spinach nuggets in the freezer I can toss in with my sauteed veggies that I mix with my pasta) and/or I switch the regular pasta for whole wheat pasta for a day or two, since the stuff I buy has 25% of your daily iron per serving.

Ah, good idea. I have some frozen spinach. I'll add that to whatever I end up making for dinner.

I find it doesn't really change the taste of anything I'm making significantly, but can really up your iron. If you buy the frozen kind, make sure to read the nutritional info, though - some companies add sodium to it. The stuff I have, which I love because it's in individual serving 'nuggets', has only a trace of sodium.
