Rephresh, Aci Jel, Zyrtec, Bendryl, and PH! :)

Hi girls!

So I have some question about when and how to use these products.

1) Can I use a 1/2 application of rephresh 12 hours before bd and then do a finger aci jel (or replens), ONE hour before bd?

2) 5 min after we dtd, I was planning to do a finger aci jel (or replens) at entrance of V, and then do this every 30 min. for the next 4 hours. Then put in some more rephresh at entrance of V. It may not be necessary but I would like to try it. Will using the rephresh and aci jel/replens so close together cause a pH spike or is it ok? I remember when some people use rephresh as a lube and then finger aci jel or finger replens right after.

3) If I have to make more than one attempt before my cut off, can I do the 1/2 application of rephresh 12 hours before we dtd each night?

4) Can I take Zyrtec ONE hour before we dtd? And then possibly Bendryl later that night if I need it?

Also, I don't have any way of checking my pH.. has anyone used Rephresh and it caused their pH to *increase*??

Good question!! I think women have used rephresh and it caused pH to rise at FIRST. But then the balancing act comes in and everything is good . That's why you shouldn't use rephresh with an O + 12, only with cut off. WIth O + 12 the egg is right there, so no room for error. It's too stressful for me anyway, relying only on PH and it's hard to figure out (for me at least).

What you have posted is replens...can be used instead of aci jel if you want. Rephresh is different. Replens is used as a finger replens...just a finger tip amount up to cervix. Rephresh can be use as 1/2 application or a whole application 12 hours before you dtd to help keep pH balanced to 4.5 when it mixes with cm, semen, ect ect. The effect is supposed to last 3 days.

I'm still concerned with the 4 hours after bd and the cut off until O time. I know it probably doesn't matter, but I can't help it. Been ingrained in me for many many years! haha. Soooo, after I dtd, will use a finger aci jel at entrance of V, to get PH down quickly. Will do it every 30 min for the next 4 hours. After that I plan to use the rest of the rephresh (1/2 application) and insert just at entrance of V to hopefully keep pH down throughout the night. Will check pH and lower with aci jel as needed from cut off through O.

IF I can't seem to get pH down (like last time) then, and ONLY then will I do a small amount of lime douche (.13 mL's). But hope the rephresh works and I don't have to worry about it.

How many will I want for each sway... is one box/month enough?

I have Acijel, but have no way to test my pH (and I'm not sure I want to obsess about pH either.. torn on this one) so I'm wondering if I should use it or not, since I don' tknow what it will do to my pH....

2)not necessary because sperm is gone from VJ by then, but whatevs, won't hurt. We tested RepHresh with Sylk, Acijel, and Replens and it did not make pH spike.
3)yes
4)I think you should take the Zyrtec at least 4-6 hours before your attempt. Zytrec takes a little while to get rolling. Benadryl you can take 1 hour before.

The RepHresh WILL lower pH and unlike Acijel, Replens, and Sylk, it can't cause a pH backlash because it keeps reacting with everything your body throws at it to bring pH down. With Acijel, Replens and Sylk, if your body doesn't "like" having it in there, it starts churning out the CM to wash it away and the jellies get diluted and your pH goes up. RepHresh actually chemically reacts with your CM so the pH of it goes down too.

NO, RepHresh does not and actually CANNOT cause your pH to increase. The sole reason why IG makes this claim is because the person who wrote the IG FAQ did not understand what a reactive lube is and has very wrong information in the FAQ that everyone uses.

RepHresh is a reactive jelly designed to bring everything it comes into contact with to pH of 4.5-5. So if something high in pH mixes with the RepHresh (like semen or CM) the RepHresh causes a chemical reaction that then lowers the pH to 4.5-5. If more semen or CM shows up, the RepHresh will bring the pH down again - it doesn't get "averaged out" in the same way that Acijel, Sylk and Replens can - where the pH will be an average of the pH of the jelly and the pH of the semen/CM - because the RepHresh actually reacts with the semen/CM to lower their pH. (altho it can get washed away and diluted over time, of course.)

The downside of the reactive jelly is if something low in pH (like lime douche) contacts the Rephresh, the RepHresh will raise the pH. There is no point or benefit to doing lime douche with REpHresh because that could potentially make pH go up a bit (altho we have not tested this) and it is well within the realm of reason that anyone on IG who claimed their pH went up with RepHresh, may have been mixing it with lime since that is what the advice on IG is all about. We have been having good results with RepHresh not making pH spike and it seems to be working very well for us. We have tested RepHresh with Acijel, Sylk, and Replens and it kept pH stable, did not go up or down. We also tested RepHresh in a shot glass with semen and it lowered the semen pH instantly. If you use RepHresh and take your pH and it is still high, use some more RepHresh if you're very concerned about it.

Excellent!! I will trust in the refresh to work. I will use a full app every 3 days from end of Af until day before I think I am o.'ing. Up to cervix right?

After I dtd I will check ph gently and maybe put in a bit of rep lens or a if it's very high. Just for peace of mind! Haha. Good to know that it won't do much harm. Will check once or twice. Won't go crazy as I don't wanna up my T levels. And won't use the hannah tester, too stressful!! Just ph strips.

Good to know bout tue zyrtec. Will take it around 4 hours before attempt or that morning.

Oh and I will do the 1/2 application of refresh before my attempt. Even if I end up doing frequent bd of 2 or 3 days. It's only a 1/2 app so it should be fine. Just won't do the full app in the am. That would be too much.

And I will do the finger rep lens or acijel one hour before attempt.
