Good for you, Ootb! I think that is fantastic! FWIW, I eat breakfast, but I still eat a late meal, I like to have some long stretches of low blood sugar in my day. I am also changing my diet a tad, as my weight is a little too low, and I have no where to lose. I am going to keep veggie, stay mostly low everything but add a little more fat and some more empty calories. I was already eating sweets last cycle, but I will add even more this cycle and add some new ones like rice krispie treats and maybe kit kats or something like that? I will also probably do some bigger portions of pasta and then the 5 days before I suspect I will O cut those things out. I am doing basically what I did before but with a bit more extra in the crappy food department rather than the nutrient department! I used to be such an healthful eater!

I hope your change makes you more sane and gives you the results you are looking for! Happy and healthy 2012!

Grrr.....I just wrote a big long post then lost it! I was going to say that you're making a wise choice, Jen - since we've all ended up on this diet longer than we'd like, we need to find a way to make it fit into our lives better.

I was traveling all day today (literally - it took us 14 hours), so following the diet was tough, but I think I did a good job:

    5am: coffee
11am: 2 Tim Horton's Yogurt & Berries (these things are great - almost no sodium, only 4g of protein and they're low fat. I ate 2 because they're pretty tiny, but they're yummy!) + Caramel Corn rice cake
4pm: 3 mini cheese rice cakes (the kids were eating them and I couldn't resist)
7pm: 1 slice East Side Mario's cheese pizza (I discovered last summer this chain has a thin crust pizza that isn't swimming in sodium like most), garden salad with a drizzle of house dressing, 2 Timbits (mini donuts)
9:30pm: pineapple and melon from a fruit tray my Mom had out, hot chocolate

Calories:978 (whaaaatt? I'm surprised by this - I guess I should have eaten more Timbits)
    Protein: 24.5
    Sodium: 849

Ok, I think I must have left something out somewhere, because I feel like I ate a lot of junk. Maybe that slice of pizza I had was bigger than the one the site lists the nutritional info for....

Yeah...I was doing the "crash and burn" for December as I really thought it would be the last few wks on the diet and I wanted to give it the biggest shot I could, diet, RepHresh, everything, lol.

Holy cow! Great job yesterday, Mocha!!! I know I can't eat that well while traveling, especially w/that crazy lay-over! Ohhhh...I'm getting so excited for Tuesday morning to come!

I will be VERY surprised if I actually wait until Tuesday. I have a feeling I'll end up wasting a test on Sunday even though I'll only be 8dpo - it would be so nice to have a New Year's BFP! In the past, I've gotten my BFPs at 8dpo (with my twins), 11dpo (with ds3) and 9dpo (with my angel baby).

I find a bulk of my calories have come from SNACKING. I think that's probably bad, but I've been having trouble stopping the snacking! (Mainly at night, post dinner...)

The harder I try, the more they look really gooooooooood. Sugary snacking, by the way! Fatty, sugary snacking. i.e. chocolate...

Although, I have to say... Mikado's give me that chocolate I crave but they are quite low in most things!

1 stick = 0.19 protein, 0.48 fat... not sure of the sodium, but they're so dinky it hardly will amount to much.

I didn't do very well yesterday - now that I'm surrounded by yummy food at my Mom's house, I'm eating lots of stuff I shouldn't be. I have no idea of my totals and frankly don't want to know, but my day looked something like this:

    7am: coffee
12pm: low sodium bun with butter, chocolate cookies
    4pm: curd cheese
5pm: cheese tortellini with tomato sauce and a bit of parm. My Mom, bless her heart, planned the meal specifically for me because she knows I'm eating vegetarian right now, but when I looked at the labels, everything was super high in protein and sodium, so I know I was high on both of those. I also had a strawberry sundae for dessert.
9pm: more curd cheese , shortbread cookies, green grapes

And I think there was much more I'm forgetting....

    Morning: Coffee with 1% soymilk.
Lunch: Ryvita crispbreads with some dairylea cheese and iceburg lettuce, with a little balsamic vinegar and lemon juice.
Dinner: Verdi Tagliatelli (surprisingly low in stuff than packaged pasta, for some reason? It was fresh pasta rather than dried... 1/4 of the pack = 135 calories, 1 gram fat, 7 grams protein) with creme fraiche, plain tinned tomatoes, and mushrooms. Yummm.

Snacks: 1 thornton's chocolate, jelly beans, and strawberry laces.

    Calories: 1399
    Fat: 36
    Protein: 37

I forget that not everyone knows what curd is! Curd cheese is an acquired taste. Basically it's unfinished, fresh cheese - when they make cheddar, they press curds into blocks then age them. Eating the curds fresh results in a salty, squeaky (yes, they really squeak when you bite into them) snack. You buy it by the bag, and if you're me, you can't stop until the whole bag's gone. True curd snobs (like me) will only eat them if they've never been refrigerated - they can be kept for up to 48 hours at room temperature after they're made. They're best (and freshest) if you buy them directly from a cheese factory, where they've been made that day. Yummy!

Curds are also part of one of our favourite, national indulgences here in Canada, that originated in Quebec: poutine! That's fries, covered in curd cheese and gravy. Mmmmmmmmm!
