So, after the OPK not showing even a faint line yesterday, I woke up this am with a temp drop of - .4 and I did an OPK and it definitely had a line...though it was still fainter than the control line, it looks like it'll be tomorrow late or the next morning early that I O. It's been since Friday since we BD, which will be 4 days tonight, when we were going to do our cutoff. I'm worried about doing our cutoff tonight now since it might end up only being a 24-36 hr. cutoff. So, I called hubby at work and asked him if he could release this am. I'm so stressed about the timing now! I can usually predict O SO well to plan timing, but with the chemical last month, it's throwing me off! AAAAHHHHH!

Super shocking surprise BFP without ttc! EDD Jan 7, 2015 with a !

    Hi everyone
New here - been on the other Jan thread and now thought I'd introduce myself here.
Starting swaying this week! lots to take in and digest!

So sorry to hear TTC5... so shocking!

I have a few questions which would be great to get some input on. Atomic - any thoughts in particular?

    1) I have found an alkalizing powder here that I am eager to use, but see it has calcium in it - I know that on GD, Calcium isnt such a big no-no, but I remain nervous about having too much in my diet (think some IG principles are still ingrained in me! lol :-)
    Here's what the info says:

Multiforce Alkaline Powder contains a combination of minerals, plant calcium and tissue salts that support the body’s balancing and disease-prevention mechanisms. They impact on blood pH in the following way:

Magnesium Hydrogenium phosphate acts as a digestive antacid
Calcium citrate has phosphate-binding properties which results in alkalinity
Potassium Bicarbonate has blood alkalinising properties and acts on metabolic acidosis
Magnesium citrate has a bowel cleansing effect
Potassium citrate has a diuretic and alkalinising effect on the urine by combining with calcium and acid in the kidneys (this also helps prevent the formation of kidney stones)
Dicalciumphosphate 2-Hydrate is an easily absorbed calcium which controls acidity while building bones and helping prevent bone loss, and as an aid to reducing blood pressure and cardiac ailments
Plant calcium – Urtica Dioica – offers cleansing support to the kidneys by reducing acidity
Tissue Salts assist with assimilation of the formula and absorption of calcium
Acerola extract has antioxidant properties while imparting a pleasant flavour to the formula
    How to take it
This A Vogel product can be used daily as part of a health management programme. Just stir a teaspoon of the powder into a large glass of water and drink once a day on an empty stomach.
It is safe in pregnancy and during lactation. A.Vogel Multiforce Alkaline Powder has no known drug interactions.

Patients on beta blockers for heart disorders or who have renal failure should consult their doctor before using Multiforce

    2) I bought an ovulation microscope - think it works the same as OPKs, but cheaper as I can reuse each month ;-P When it starts to 'fern', one would be approaching ovulation. I get that. But how would you know if you have FINISHED ovulating - can I assume that if I 'ferned' yesterday, but today its clear, then I ovulated yest?? Struggling to understand how to tell when I have ovulated if I am not charting temps... I have 3 months to understand how to pin-point Ov!!

    3) Hubby is taking TT - I am not. Is that ok?? Atomic - I read in one of your posts that you are not a fan??

    Sorry about long post!

Hobber - I wouldn't worry about the spermies, glad dd is ok

MFC - I wouldn't worry about the size or changing your ticker. Your little beans size can vary through the whole thing, at 20 wks my guy was a few days behind and is now almost a week ahead. They'll come when they're ready regardless of the date on the chart.

5 - 5dpo and giving up? How come?

yahmama - I'm sure the timing/cut-off will be fine. Keep in mind none of it is proven 100% anyway.

Babyblessings - welcome! 1- for me I'd skip the powder and focus on the HE diet. IG had us all so programed about pH and sups and I'll tell you a lot of us have gotten boys without them. I, for one, had a pH of 5-5.5 and did 1 bsf 30 minutes prior to our attempt. I was only taking a prenatal, fish oil and Vit D. My focus was on diet, I honestly think that is the biggest factor. On the other hand I would avoid any sup that messes with your blood pH, it's cm pH you want to change, and could have sever drug interactions. Just seems a little scary to me. 2- never used an o-scope 3- sorry no info on TT.

Sorry to be so absent lately ladies. I'm having some complications and didn't want to rain on the ttc parade but I really need/miss the support of this thread. Yes the blue crew grads are great but this is a more the merrier type of thing right now.
I found out before x-mas that at 33 wks I was measuring full term. They were nervous that I either had too much fluid or a huge baby so I was sent for an u/s. I had the u/s last week at 35wks and learned that he is about a week ahead with a slightly large head and belly. This isn't a concern but they wanted me to go for another gestational diabetes test. My fluid levels are on the high end of normal but still normal, so far so good right? Wrong, the baby is frank breach (I'll post a pic) and if he can't be turned I'll be having a c-section. Now before anyone argues he could in fact be born vaginally you are right, but the risks outweigh the benefits so we aren't considering it. I'm sure you ladies can understand that we waited so long for and did so much to get this little guy I can't put him in danger because I don't want surgery. Anyway on I've been doing all sorts of things to try and turn him but am sure none of them have worked. I have a doppler and his heartbeat is too high for him to be head down, this will be confirmed on Thursday. If I'm right I'll have an external version next week at 37wks and hope for the best. Anyway that's where we are for now. Here's his position, looks pretty comfy huh

Your DH can release at work?? That's funny, kind of!

I think you could have also DTD tonight and tomorrow, but I guess it is too late for that? I think 36 hrs will be okay otherwise! We DTD this morning only 36hrs after last attempt. And we will DTD tomorrow morning one last time, which will be only be 24hrs.

3P1B, I've heard those external versions are very painful, but I wish you the best of luck of trying to get him turned around!

Babyblessings- I've never used a microscope, so I'm not sure what to tell you! Sorry, but GL to you! I know what you mean about having several IG concepts ingrained in your mind--I'm still that way a lot and the only thing I"m holding out on is the calcium/dairy thing. I take Vit. D supplement and don't worry about the calcium that is in bread, etc, but haven't been daring enough to drink milk and eat yogurt!

He was going to go to the bathroom! LOL I'm very lucky to have a committed DH who is on board with all this stuff! I didn't want to DTD tonight because I'm pretty sure I won't O until Wed. evening or Thurs morning based upon how my OPK's and temp have worked in previous cycles at the point I'm at now. I wish I had asked him to do our cutoff last night when I started noticing the fertile cm yesterday, but since there wasn't a line in sight on the OPK I thought I was safe. So, by him releasing this morning, that gives us at least 36 hours at the min. before an attempt Wed. evening, but hopefully we can hold off until Thurs am before he goes to work! Praying O holds off!

3P1B, Sorry that Charlie is breech, but I totally understand why you would go for the C-section. I would too in your case. You will be fine, and so will he! Try not to worry about it. It is a bummer, but you will both do great, and this way you can really plan for his birth, getting your other kiddos squared away with whoever will be staying with them, etc. ALso, I remember you saying that you weren't too excited about having Charlie's birthday so close to one of your other kids, so with a C-section he will come early, right? Have they set a date?

You are lucky! My DH is grudgingly doing SOME of the things I ask, but if I push too much, he gets bitchy!

We had the same issue with the 4 days as you thus cycle--though I chose to DTD every other day this cycle, so we just had to start on CD 9 rather than CD10 when I wanted. I decided to DTD a bunch this cycle because that's how I got my first son, and the last two months of trying just 2 days a cycle have given me BFNs. Plus I just turned 39 so I am running out of time!
