I did some research, (sue me, I'm a librarian!) and this is what I found:
Dr. Ramzi himself said: "You must ask the sonographer to get a true transverse section of the uterus and placenta, if possible, can put the color flow in it. The placenta heights, upper or lower, is not the answer I am looking for but placenta location on the sides, laterality or the bulk of the placenta to either sides. If you are not sure, please go to 女人心事-婦產科諮詢服務網 look under the ultrasound section and read my paper."
His paper is titled "The relationship between placental location and fetal gender (Ramzis Method)"
According to the paper (that is lengthy), the best time to do this theory is when the baby is 6 weeks gestation, so right around the time of the 8 week scan, since pregnancy counts the two weeks before you even concieve!
I printed out some materials that I plan to bring me with my ultrasound, along with asking for this true transverse section of the uterus. He also went on to say in a different post that women kept asking their sonographers where their "baby" is located, and that's not what to look for, it's where the placenta / chronic viii is located that is the key to his method.
Hope this helps someone!

can you tell side of placenta just from looking at the early ultrasound photos or did you need to ask /see at the time of the scan? im now 15 weeks so maybe i missed that window for ramzi theory?
