    3 of the same

Well just been to collect ds1 from school and the amount of 3 of same gender family's I came across makes me think does gender run in family's and is it even worth me trying again.

I know what you mean. I do kind of assume that most people just go about their lives though and do not think of swaying or just don't care what gender they have so if there is truth to swaying, you would have to make changes in order to have a chance at it working. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome

Some people don't change habits.... I gained weight before ds1 (130lbs) and didn't change my eating habits before ds2 was conceived (140lbs). I know people with all girls (2-4) that worked to loose 15-30lbs before conceiving another baby. Some moms went crazy for nuts and dark veggies before conceiving their boys. Some are addicted to fried foods or dairy or high fat in general and conceive all boys.

If I would have stayed on my same diet and habits I would have 10 more boys but maybe 1 girl in there somewhere. Just by changing to a low fat/salt/cal diet I am upping my chance at a girl. Loosing my extra weight helps too.

I agree, I had to make lots of changes to conceive a girl and if I hadn't read Atomic's research I would have had a gazillion boys because I was one big boy sway!!

Have you heard of Michelle Duggar.... She started Weight Watchers after her last son was born and then went on to conceive 4 girls (and 1 unknown) while on the diet. Starting over after each baby.

I know many with 3 of a kind too. But I still think it is closer to 50/50 with every pregnancy; I don't think it runs in families to have one gender. I think it *feels* that way to those of us who do have single gender because it is such a big deal, but realistically we're talking about taking 3 chances at a game that only has 2 possible outcomes. It isn't like there's 5 different options for gender and you keep getting the same one... that to me would be strange and yes, indicative of there being some underlying cause.

But if I've only played 3 times and I've gotten the same result each time, I might consider it unlucky since it isn't what I wanted, but I don't consider it inevitable. I do think it's worth trying again if you want another child, but I also think you're still looking at 50/50 (maybe a slight up in the odds if you sway) and those aren't the best odds when your heart is set on one of those two options.

Where I am I see lots of families with 2+1 of a kind. No one has 4 of a kind like me. My mum had four girls and then
Had a boy. After that she had another girl then another boy.

Good luck with the weight loss. I lost 3 stone leading up to our BFP and I'm sure it helped me
