Thanks yeah I sure hope and pray for a BFP in March, I cant wait!
We've gotten pretty lucky, really. We've never created a bed time for him because we figured it was less stressful on everyone that he just go to sleep when he is tired and ready. In the end, when I returned to work, it happened to work out REALLY well. The day he goes to the childminder and has to be woken up early, he goes to bed early. Then weekends, he likes to stay up a little (don't we all?) and we all sleep in.

With my husband's 4 on, 4 off 12 hour shift pattern, the days he has our son, it is REALLY handy because it means he can sleep in and recoup after such a heavy shift pattern! So, sometimes he'll sleep in until 11am! 9am is quite early for his weekend standards but he went to bed neither early nor late last night.

Think I'll do the same thing with the next kiddo, taking into account all kids are different and what worked for my son may not work for another, but we'll see!

you're very lucky! how old is he?
we've tried absolutely everything with our DS from following his lead at bedtime, late set bedtime, early set bedtime... lots of naps in the day, less naps in the day, lots of food... it took us absolutely ages to get him to sleep in a good block of sleep but 5am is wake-up time almost every day!

I figure we've had our lot of a baby being difficult with our DS, and that the next one is bound to be easier lol

Rainbow Our d/s was such a good baby but from the day he was born until 6 months old would feed EVERY 2 or 3 Hrs he would sleep in between... But anyway we never got full night sleep from him until he was 2 and I had him toilet trained just before his second bday and he has never worn a night nappy so all of sudden he was sooo easy!! Hes such a good boy I dont think we will get another one like him ... He wakes between 6.30 and 7. May wake on the odd night for toilet or a drink but not often... Doubt you can have 2 good kids hey??

He just turned 2! He's always been a complete pleasure, with his sleep, his temperament... he's been a dream boy! No wonder we want a second kid so bad! From day one he's been marvelous.

Even in newborn stage, even with being up to breastfeed, I guess my attitude towards understanding that newborns wake up to eat because their digestion is so fast and efficient made it feel less stressful to me. No lie, I was sleepy, but I was never stressed out. I just rolled with it... went with the flow... maybe that rubbed off on him. We also babywore until he was too heavy to do it constantly, so I think that helped in his first year with his calm, cool, contentment. Don't know, though!

And like you say, we've had it SO SO SO easy with him, our second is bound to make us think twice before ever having a third. :P We shall see!

If our d/s went to bed at 11pm he would still wake at 6.30am or 7.. Hes really placid too and was from the day he was born... Yesterday he was cuddling me on the couch and he said "mum I just love you" and then he put his arms around me and said "your so beautiful", They can be just gorgeous sometimes!
