Hi I need your help ladies,
I want to start ttc in mid march and I would love a little girl to complete my family (have an 18m old little boy).
Before I had Jack (conceived in one month!) I was diagnosed with pcos - no other symptoms but a very irregular cycle so it was a miracle I got pregnant at all. I read books and ate healthily, regularly, and cut alcohol / caffeine etc when we were trying.
Having read about girl sway diets its seems like you should cut out a lot of foods an on purpose keep blood sugar levels low - exact opposite to what I was told to overcome pcos.
Instead of the low everything diet I was going to try the following:
Taking cranberry, calcium, magnesium, vit b6 and agnus castus supplements. Drinking a lot of dairy
Cutting meat, choc, caffeine, alcohol, bananas, tomatoes, salt
Does this sound a reasonable girl sway or does anyone have any other tips?
One more thing - are potatoes, pasta and rice bad for girl sway - in which case what the hell do you eat!??
Do I need to cut out breakfast do you think? This really doesn't seem v healthy to me...

welcome!
if you're going to take additional supplements I'd make sure that you are eating less nutrients overall or it could sway blue by providing your body with more.
potatoes sway blue, but white pasta and white rice are both fine for a pink sway (in fact, they're staples on the pink diet)
ideally you'd cut out breakfast. It's an easy way to eat a few less calories and it keeps your blood glucose lower for longer, which helps developing pink embryos. studies have shown that 60% of women who eat breakfast everyday have boys, compared to 40% of women who never eat it.
you're right that the low blood glucose could be difficult if you have PCOS, but then the idea is that becoming less fertile is another aspect that sways pink. The vitex (agnus cactus) will definitely help you regulate your cycles, though.

Thanks for your reply.
So I'll cut out potatoes in favour of rice and pasta - what bread if any can I eat do you know?
and can I eat berries such as strawbs and blueberries?
Do you know if vit b6 helps sort out cycles?
and one more question - can I eat nuts?!

you'd have to check the sodium content of bread, some is much higher than others. On a pink diet most of us aim to get it below 1g each day.
strawberries and raspberries yes, blueberries no
vit B6 can help lengthen your luteal phase, but I don't think it regulates on it's own. That's why vitex is so good
nope, nuts sway blue

Thank you again, this is finally becoming a little clearer in my head now! I want to start ttc at start of april - should I start my sway in next couple of weeks - ie six weeks before? Or is there no need that early?

Hi Laura, best of luck with your sway. I just wanted to mention that when i concieved my DD (without swaying) i was not eating breakfast, i would only drink 1 cup of coffee, then eat later in the day when i got really hungry. There is something mentioned about tricking the body into thinking there is a famine, and therefore less chance of a male child being concieved.
