I've read of people hearing the heartbeat from 9 weeks, but you must have a full bladder and there IS a trick to using dopplers which can take some time to master

My doppler arrived at 10+3 ish in my last pregnancy and we heard the heartbeat every time we tried from then onwards (with some patience, sometimes it took 5+ mins to find it!)

Don't worry, girlmom. I don't believe in old wives tales one bit - I'm just doing them for fun while I wait for 20 weeks to come .

Weird pregnancy symptom--I have had it with all 4 pregnancies. I get a pain in between my eyebrows, above the bridge of my nose, when I am exposed to direct heat. Like while loading the wood stove, or getting dinner out of the over, or while washing my face in the shower. My doctor has no idea what is causing it, and no one I know has ever experienced it before. Anyone here ever have that happen?

You will definitely go first, then! I might go a week early, if they induce me....because I live an hour from the hospital and they are afraid I might not make it to the hospital. They induced me last time a week early just to make sure. My first two came early on their own, though (one was 9 days early, the other a week). So who knows? As long as I don't have the baby on Sept. 27th--that's my ex's birthday!!

Jumping in a day early though I don't have an "official due date" yet. (last time I never got one :_(, it was like they knew he wasn't going to make it).
I go for my u/s in 5 more hours!!!! (Why am I up? I'm at work, bleh) I will be happy just to see his heartbeat so I can relax. I've been having cramps and backache for the most part all night tonight and that's freaking me out, but so far things still seem OK.

I did the old wives' tales with DD#3 and they ALL said boy! I was convinced and had hubby convinced too. So you can imagine my horror and the look on his face when the tech said "girl". I'm glad I'm not alone in GD!

Girlmom ~ what's the deal with the fish hooks? I did notice I had more veins in my eye the other day when putting on makeup and thought it odd that they were there all of a sudden. But they do look like upside down fish hooks at 5 and 7 o'clock. That is a new one on me.
I did do some googling on the subject and took a few pics of my eyes. My vein at 5 O'Clock is a double-ended fish hook, maybe the twins took???? We shall see!!!
So now I sit tight and wait these last few hours! I hope to be back and post a pic!!!
