My sister had posterior placenta and had aFrom what I've found online, it seems posterior placenta is more common in boys, but no significantly. TTC 5 is right, lots of other factor can influence placenta position.
This time I have anterior placenta ( front wall) and was told girl on my12 and 15 weeks scan, tho it seems anterior really can go either way.

Hey ladies, I cant recall where my placenta's were with my girls but with my boy, monthly scans showed the placenta was posterior high if that's of any help. With my first dd I had a placental abruption which I heard happens more with girls but I don't know if that's true or not.

I have an anterior placenta for the first time, its actually quite high up, with my girls its was posterior

seems it really is 50 50 then. well i had posterior with both my boys so seems only fit this is my 3rd boy

I do not believe this is true at all and I REALLY REALLY hope that no one gets their hopes up on the basis of this idea.
I don't have a clue where my placentas were with my first three, but with DS 4 and now this baby (DD), both were anterior.!!! Questions??

Or, it could be that the unique shape of your personal uterus, happens to favor development of the placenta on the posterior. There are MANY things that affect your body that have nothing to do with your baby's gender.

My research seemed to indicate more placenta abruptions with boys, because there are more placenta previa's with boys and previas= more abruptions. But the two people I know who had this, did both have girls (probably coincidence). Originally Posted by Babystars

I had a high anterior placenta with my DD and my mother thought I was making it up when I told her as she had never heard of such a thing. My mum has 6 daughters all with short easy labours so I guess she had only posterior placentas
