supps question..to take or not to?

Hello all, 1st post here as ive just been reading & reading & reading from this site. I was originally going to start with taking supps (cal & mag) after getting this info from ingender, then i came across this site and found the LE diet which just made so much sense, but after reading the study regarding the rats (the rats who had cal & mag had more girls) it made me wonder weither i should be taking supps or not? I have 2 boys & have had them both via c-section so medically cannot keep trying. I NEED to get this right or my dream is gone forever. Any thoughts on the supps?? Thanks all for taking the time to read, any response greatly welcomed.

    Hi Laura!

That rat study is just one study. We have a study in humans that showed more cal-mag = more boys and when independent researchers tried to recreate the study done in sows that claimed cal-mag = girls, they could not recreate the results (got more boys.)

We've been getting equal if not better results not taking the cal-mag (smaller sample size so I can't totally say we're really getting better results yet until we have more results to go off of - we may just be on a lucky streak) and several of us who had failed sways taking cal-mag, turned around and had successes without cal-mag.

Please read http://genderdreaming.com/forum/tryi...roversial.html (three part essay with links at the end of the first one to the other two) and then you can make up your own mind what you want to do. Some people have had success with cal-mag, some haven't.

Also, since you do have a limit (c-sections) on the amount of kids you can have, have you considered HT? Swaying, even under the best of circumstances, can never and will never be 100% and HT may be a better choice.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. WOW i did mot know about the study done on humans with cal & mag. I had read the study you posted & that had always been stuck in my mind. I defo think i am going with the LE diet. With boys my boys i had a lot of nutrients from a whole variety of foods (mainly steak), so i do think that for me the LE diet with no supps is the best way to go.

Thank you for the advise on HT swaying, i had briefly read about it on ingender & had been debating over it, but i suffer from depression & im on long term anti-depressants & just feel that should i have a failed sway after HT i will feel like a failure (not that anyone who had a failed HT sway is a failure, its just how i would see myself). I dearly dearly dearly want a daughter (im 1 of 3 girls) but on the same hand i dont want to spend the rest of my life blaming myself. The whole looking under a microscope thing would stress me out & science was my worst subject. Is that the only HT method?

With the normal swaying i would still throw everything including the kitchen sink at it (my fiance has agreed to take up bike riding!) but id remain calm at it. We want to start trying at the end of the year so i wanted my sway drummed into me so that i dont have to worry/stress & keep things as calm as poss to avoid raising T & if i still got my boy, i dont think id feel as bad.

Thanks again for your reply x

im sorry i forgot to add that we had looked briefly at PGD in the ingender forums & various other forums on the net but with the cost we simply couldnt afford to do that. We could save but it would take quite a few years but there is a 10year age gap between my fiance & i. Im 23 & hes 33 (34 in oct) x

I'm sorry, I meant high-tech as in PGD/IVF. NOT at home high tech which does not seem to work any better than 50-50. i agree at home high-tech is a recipe for sky high stress and testosterone and I don't advise anyone to do it.

I totally understand not wanting to or being able to afford PGD/IVF and I"m right there with ya, I just want you to know that with swaying, even perfect sways produce opposites and so when I see anyone who has severe gender desire and is limited because of C-section, I always make the suggestion just in case they hadn't considered it.

I recommend DH take licorice root 450 mg 3 times a day from your AF-day before O(unless he's older, overweight, or has high blood pressure), a probiotic, cranberry from 1500-10000 mg (use the smallest dose that lowers his ph.) and aspartame 4-5 servings a day.

Optional supps - Cal 1200 mg mag 250 mg (these probably do nothing, but nutrients probably dont' sway for DH the way they seem to for DW and some people want to hedge their bets by having DH take them) and 1 dose Sudafed 1-2 hours before your attempt (this is a risky supp and DW should NOT take it, but men tolerate it better.)
