So I call the pharmacist to cancel the penicillin and he's like.. "Well penicilin is the absolute safest things to take during pregnancy blah blah blah..." And I thought...yeah well probably not mine in this fragile state! for hellsakes. I told him I didn't want it right now. He's like "Well I can keep it on file for you until you talk to your doctor.." "Yea, that's fine." And he thanked me for the heads up. UGH!

One question.. how many times do you ladies in early pregnancy pee. I have frequent strong urges...I need to keep track.
trying to determine if it's a UTI. Never had one in my life but yeah...
In the past few months I did notice white mucus like stuff in my cups of pee when I did my opks, but couldn't find any real BIG concern answers on the net. Then today I go to look it up and it says blood or mucus in urine is a symptom.

What do they use to treat UTIS in early pregnancy.. or pregnancy in general?

    antibiotics? lol

My DH always makes a fuss when I say I cannot change the cat box because of the pregnancy so when it gets too bad I put on gloves, a mask and make sure I"m covered up and do it, then take a shower right afterwards...I'm going to have to look this up.
First of all, if you've had cats your whole life you've probably been exposed already (it's a very mild illness and easy to miss) and secondly, if you wear gloves and a mask it's tough to catch it anyway (you actually have to INGEST the oocytes). Most people don't even catch it from cats, they catch it from contaminated meat or vegetables. Also, it's most dangerous to a baby in the first tri anyway (when luckily, it's hardest for them to catch.)

Our cat had toxoplasmosis when I was 7 months pg with DS 2, so severely that she actually went into liver failure and passed away and the infection was so thorough that her tissues were preserved and are now on display at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine! o.O

I didn't catch the toxoplasmosis even tho she bit me while she was sick (may I just say, that was a nightmare) and DS 2 was and is fine.

The interesting thing about toxoplasmosis is that if you've been infected with it, you may have more sons than the population as a whole. Crazy!
