Good luck!
Also, they never tested for Group B at all until pretty recently...I was never tested with my first two sons.

I would keep up the probiotic!!!! It will compete for resources with the Group B and hopefully the Group B will die out.

What do they use to treat UTIS in early pregnancy.. or pregnancy in general?

    antibiotics? lol
Peeing in early pg is super common due to hormonal changes. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see blood in your urine and they'll be able to detect that at your next doc's visit.

UPDATE: So after I told you ladies I stopped spotting I just had scant spotting... but right after that.. nothing, nada, and all is well! I feel like my vagina or cervix or whatever is tight in there constantly.. Can't stop focusing on it.. So I'm telling myself I am constantly aroused because that is what it feels like! I haven't let hubby touch me since my BFP.

Glad the progesterone is working and all seems well! I had GBS with both and just had to have antibiotics during labor. I don't see why you would take penicillin now, that seems WAY to early. I'd scrap it and go with probiotics!
(2002) (2005) from 1st marriage. TTC since Aug 2010- Dx: low sperm count and 1% normal sperm. We are giving up and moving on with a baby-free life.
UPDATE: surprise bfp in Feb 2013! It's a BOY!

    NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!

What does the probiotics mean that you and Atomic speak of?

    And thank you Lola!

It's healthy bacteria that live in your body all the time, that your body is used to and likes having around (some even help us digest our food) and compete for resources (food, space) with "bad" bacteria that can make us sick like Group B strep and even things like yeasts (which are not bacteria of course). If you have a lot of healthy bacteria, it's very difficult to get infected by "bad" bacteria, because the bad guys can't get a toehold.

You've probably heard them called by other names like acidophilus. Probiotic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I think probiotics are GREAT for everyone to take especially during pregnancy (and I'm actually out and need to get some myself!) If you take them in advance of delivery, the good bacteria colonize your VJ and your baby actually gets a nice big dose of them as s/he passes thru the birth canal.

If you do have a UTI, the probiotic will also help clear that up as well.

They are like "good" bacteria that help balance your system out. Here is a good article: Probiotics & Probiotic Supplements - WebMD: Uses and Safety I take them on and off, and did take them when pg with #2 as my doula advised that I should take them for overall health, first, but also to counter the GBS.

UGH I've tried that before LOL my baby got thrush and I got a yeast infection in my vag and on my nipples! Took forever to get out of baby and off boobies! I took it during antibiotics though...
so I don't know what it will do on it's own. I'm so scared to take anything

Took a family member's advice to AVOID thrush because of antibiotics!
