We are going to be swaying for a girl and I have a question about timing.
When we conceived our daughter, I know that we only DTD one time the entire month. We had just moved to Georgia and were working opposite shifts so we didn't have much time for BDing. I wasn't charting or using anything to predict ovulation, so I have no idea when she was actually conceived. I knew my LMP date but had no idea when I ovulated compared to when we DTD.
With our son, I was charting (temps, OPKs, OVwatch, etc.) We were BDing pretty much every other day up until O then we did it everyday for three days straight. We were NOT trying to sway in anyway just plain TTC.
SO....Abstaining seemed to work for us to get a girl, where more frequent BDing got us a boy. So originally my timing plan was to abstain and go for O+12, but now I'm wondering if I would be ok to just do an abstain with cut-off instead.
Any suggestions???

After doing some more reading, I think I answered my own question...I think we will abstain with one attempt at positive OPK. Since we have had a hard time conceiving in the past, I think it will be our best option to be able to conceive at all!
Anyone disagree or have a different suggestion?- 2008,

I plan on dtd at +opk and the next day. I have one dd and that is how i got her. I'm not saying this is what you should do, but it worked for me...once. I was on IG at the time and was very afraid to take supps and douche so I ate a bunch of Craisins and drank a ton of CL...and was told girl at my u/s. I have 3 boys. I want to do a great job on the LE diet and leave the rest to the man upstairs.. FR for my dh too.

Sorry it took me a couple days to get to this q!! (I always answer Dream Members section questions first, so since you're a DM, you should post in there, you'll get a quicker response!!)
with abstain and 1 attempt at pos OPK. If your husband is younger than 35, that's a great strategy.
I got my DD BD one time on the night before O (which would have been the day of pos OPK) and I got 3 of 4 boys with a cutoff!! (my other boy was a sneak attack and I'm not sure when/how he was conceived.)
You may have seen this already but here's my anti-timing essay. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...le-timing.html!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I think that's a great plan to abstain and have a BD at + OPK. We BD'ed in the wee hours on the day I O'ed and got a girl.

Bugger now im confused i was thinking that Fr from af was a good thing so either bd or dh sorting himself out 1-2 times a day and then having a 3 day cut off was a girl friendly sway as all 3 of my boys were conceived on the day before and the day of OV so i thought a cut off was my best bet especially as me and dh only dtd every other day each time. I think abstaining and dtd on ov day would result in a boy as it sounds similar to past experiences ? AAARRRRRGGGHH IM SO LOST - HELP !!!!

You CANNOT base your sway on "doing the opposite" of what you did before. Some things don't sway, some things sway pink but you still had so many other things swaying blue for you, that it was irrelevant. You should only do the opposite if it actually sways pink. Doing the opposite for no reason, isn't going to help you at all and may even sway BLUE if you're focusing your energy on the wrong things. It's like if you went onto the Atkins diet to help lose weight, and you didn't lose weight, the solution is not to do the opposite and start eating massive amounts of birthday cake - that's even WORSE and you'll only gain more weight. Only do the opposite, if it sways in the direction you want to go!
Both abstain and FR can sway pink. Cutoff does not sway (please read the link above, it has a thorough explanation of why timing does not sway). If you want to do a cutoff, that's your choice to make of course, but the best science available shows 50-50 boys and girls conceived every day of the cycle and so we think it's best to TTC on the days that have the best odds of pregnancy, so you don't have to stay on diet and supps any longer than necessary. We have TONS of people on this site who have boys conceived with cutoffs and then got DDs by BD the day before/day of O. I strongly suggest doing no more than a 2 day cutoff because it's very difficult to get pg while swaying with a 3 day cutoff.
The reason why you're lost is I think you're not reading all the stuff and just going off the general posts where people are asking questions. (I'm not trying to offend you, it's just that you're asking about things that are explained) I have essays that are much more thorough. These essays will help explain frequency patterns.
PS - please do not put too much emphasis on frequency. It probably sways very little in the overall sway (if at all.)
