There are studies on both sides of the aisle on this which I have read, and I believe that alcohol in normal amounts is safe and fine while swaying and does not raise testosterone in any way that affects swaying. (affecting the results of a lab test is one thing, how it works in the human body is another thing entirely) Estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone and the precursors to them are VERY complicated things and difficult to understand and explain and researchers do not fully understand how it all works together.
Whew.... I was about to get really depressed about ruining my sway

I think I'll cut back anyway... I'm getting close (only 4 weeks now!) and I have to stop anyway, so might as well!

    Wine, you will be missed.

DH and I don't drink at all, so naturally we weren't drinking when DS1 or DS2 were conceived. We won't be drinking during our sway, either, but I'm not worried about whether or not it sways - there's plenty of other things to do to sway pink!

Sweet baby boy, you are loved and missed more than you will ever know.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you and wonder what
you would have been like. I love you and miss you so much.
Rest now, my baby, in the loving arms of Jesus.

Biggest shock of our lives - surprise BFP! And it's a GIRL!!!

My grandmother was pretty boozy when she was younger and having babies, come to think of it (on top of a pretty processed food diet...) but my grandfather also rode horses... bang, 4 girls.

HER mom/my great grandmother was an alcoholic, died in her early 60s stemming from issues from alcoholism, and had 2 girls and 1 boy. The boy (my great uncle) has always been an (excuse me) asshole, though. :x

My great aunt has 5 children. 2 girls, 3 boys. Of them, 1 girl and 1 boy were fraternal twins. She wasn't really boozy, though.

    So, there you go!

My husband drinks a beer or two every other night or so. However, he is not a regular spirit drinker (but he does like them.) Maybe if HE had some vodka every night, it'd be of a little benefit. Or not, who knows!

All I know is I DON'T drink but when my son was conceived, I had been drinking fruity Belgian beers in Belgium (because they're GOOD!), so for me... I'll just stick to the Dr Pepper and Coke Zero (I don't normally drink soda and I *hate* aspartame!)

Or at the very least, did not sway blue.
AS - what were you drinking (beer, wine, liquor)? I am not going to lie....it is summer time and I live close to the beach so we have been drinking more than usual. Our kids are out of preschool for the summer and it has been a tad difficult to deal with the all day fighting . DH has been having about 1-2 beers 5 days a week and I usually do the same. But, I am starting to get nervous that beer might not be the best choice. What is the better alcohol choice for pink?

What about mixing V8 with vodka for a boy sway :P

I'm going to be on my honeymoon when we are TTC the resort is all inclusive and I was worried about that drinking may sway pink... But i figure I was a non drinker when i concieved my 3 girls so drinks for a night or two won't hurt.

A night or two won't hurt a thing and a tomato based drink would be among your best options for blue. Let me clue you in on a pretty yummy drink I've had a couple times, it's called a Chelada and it's Clamato juice and beer, I think with a bit of lime. Sounds hideous but it's actually tasty.
