INGender recommends sea salt, but I strongly recommend you using at least SOME iodized salt every day. Your body needs iodine and many types of sea salt have none.
Also, you may not want to go overboard on the sodium intake. 4000 mg of sodium is plenty. Some data has indicated that the sky high 5-6000 or more mg of sodium may actually sway PINK, not blue. Plus, it's not good for your health or fertility.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Pearl, there is a lot of conflicting info as to whether the Himalayan Crystal Salt has iodine in enough quantity to meet dietary needs. You may be getting some from other sources, but it's best if you can sneak in some iodized salt somewhere along the way. Iodine can prevent a kind of mental handicap in our babies and thyroid issues that can cause miscarriages, so it's pretty important that we get enough. Iodine deficiency during pregnancy is considered the most common preventable cause of mental retardation in children. Iodine deficiency - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Atomic,
I use Atlantic sea salt for adding to cooking water, the Himalayan crystal salt is what I add at the table, I am also eating a lot more eggs, milk and about twice a month I get a bag of kelp crunchies from the raw food stand at the local farmers market to snack on. I have not seen any iodized salt in the supermarket or the health food store. I don't use a lot of salt anyway just probably what most normal people use which is a big step up from me not adding any salt in cooking or when eating ( I even used to buy salt free stock)

Iodized salt should be commonly available in grocery stores (but that may just be in the US.) Kelp crunchies are a good source of iodine.
Dairy used to be a great source of iodine because dairy farmers used iodine to clean their milking equipment, but they've gone to cheaper products now and so it's not a reliable source any more. Some farmers are feeding their animals iodine-rich feeds to make up for it, but I don't think it's legally required by law. You may want to find a low-level iodine supp (or take a prenatal with iodine) just to be on the safe side. Sorry to be an iodine nag, it's just that I'd rather die a thousand deaths than have anyone, esp. a child, harmed by any sway advice that I give.

Yes, it's because it's not healthy and can harm fertility. People of African descent actually carry a gene that makes them retain high levels of sodium in their blood, and they have more daughters than any other ethnicity.
Please understand I'm not advising anyone to eat large amounts of sodium, but they tell blue swayers to do that on IG and it's a REALLY bad idea.
The link to one of the studies is in this essay.
